Recently, in a press conference, the veteran actor, Dharmendra opened up about his kissing scene with Shabana Azmi in the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Talking about the same, the actor revealed that he has been getting calls and messages from a lot of people ever since the film got released. However, it was his reaction that caught everyone's attention. Dharmendra took a hilarious dig at those who are questioning him on his kissing scene and said:
"Message aa rahe hai ki Dharam ji apne aesa aesa kar diya. Yeh to mere daayein haath ka khel hai."

Earlier, in an interview with News16, Dharmendra had opened up about his kissing scene with his co-star, Shabana Azmi. Talking about the same, the actor stated his kissing scene with Shabana created a huge impact on the audience as they were not expecting it. He also mentioned that the last time he did a kissing scene was in Life In A Metro with Nafisa Ali, and people appreciated it. Elaborating more on it, Dharmendra had stated:
"I am hearing that Shabana and I have surprised the audience with the kissing scene, and at the same time they have even applauded it. I think people weren’t expecting it and it came very suddenly which is why it created an impact. The last time I did a kissing scene was in Life In A Metro with Nafisa Ali and at that time too people had appreciated it."
Soon after the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani hit the silver screens on July 28, 2023, it grabbed a lot of attention from the audience. Well, the film featured an intimate kissing scene between Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi and it was a huge surprise for the fans. And they even reacted to their kissing scenes and flooded Twitter with their surprised reactions. While one of the Twitter users wrote, "Dharmendra and shabana ji liplock was something no one expected and was shocked." Another one commented, "So Ranveer meets Alia to help his grandfather Dharmendra reunite with his ex flame Shabana Azmi and the formerly paralysed Dharmendra stands on his foot and both him and Shabana share a kiss."

Earlier, in an interview with Filmy Shilmy, Shabana had opened up about romancing Dharmendra in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Talking about the same, the actress stated that the romance between the duo is simply a glimpse into Hindi films. In her words:
"Karan Johar is a dedicated Hindi film fan. Definitely, the whole idea of romance between me and Dharmendra’s character, is based on little snippets from Hindi films…so you will feast on what he’s got there. I can’t reveal too much, but it is certainly there."
