On October 21, 2018, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh confirmed that they are getting married on November 14 and 15, 2018. After months of speculations, DeepVeer fans finally had a reason to rejoice. Deepika and Ranveer confirmed their wedding with two invites, one in English and the other in Hindi. Their English invite could be read as, “With the blessings of our families, gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of November, 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness. Lots of love, Deepika and Ranveer”.
Now, in a joint interview along with her father, Prakash Padukone, with India Today, Deepika Padukone revealed how she wants her married life with Ranveer Singh to be like. She said, “I have seen my parents do it so well and so successfully and for me that’s the way I would like my married life to be as well.I think they have a beautiful relationship, the way they have managed their professional life and being together as a family and in every way they have set an amazing benchmark for me and my sister and I would love for it to be that way”.
Ever since their confirmation, Deepika and Ranveer’s intricate wedding details, from venue to reception dates, have been floating in media on a daily basis. The recent reports suggest that DeepVeer will have two weddings- one as per South Indian rituals, Kannadiga style wedding owing to Deepika’s ancestral roots and the other as per Sindhi rituals, following the customs of Ranveer’s origin and culture.
A Mid-Day report can be read as, “Since Deepika is a South Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities. A South Indian wedding has been planned for November 14, complete with Kannadiga rituals. The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of a North Indian wedding”. The report also claims that Deepika and Ranveer will tie the knot at the famous, Villa Del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy. And also, the couple’s wedding affair will kick-start with a sangeet ceremony, followed by two weddings and finally an after party. The guest list has been kept a secret but it’s rumoured that among the Bollywood celebrities only Farah Khan, Aditya Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali would be invited.
Another media report recently suggested that post their wedding in Italy, Deepika and Ranveer would host two grand reception parties on November 30, and December 01, 2018. The report could be read as, “Both Ranveer and Deepika have been quite busy as the wedding dates are arriving. While Ranveer is working day and night to wrap up the schedule of his film, Simmba, Deepika, on the other hand, is paying attention to every minute wedding detail. While the couple has announced their wedding dates, the duo will be hosting a grand reception in Mumbai on the November 30th and the 1st”.
It further added, “While on the 30th guests will be invited for a Bollywood party, the reception will take place on the 1st. DeepVeer have chosen Grand Hyatt, Mumbai as the venue for their reception and around 3000 guests are expected at the grand celebration”.
Also, reports on DeepVeer’s honeymoon has been circulating on social media. Reportedly, owing to Ranveer’s professional commitments, the couple would have a short honeymoon, “The couple will head for a brief honeymoon before Ranveer dives into the promotions of Simmba which opens on December 28”.
