In an interview with GQ recently, the Sanju actor confirmed that he is dating Alia when he said that he doesn’t want to overspeak about it. He was quoted as saying, “It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to overspeak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is- what’s the right word- flowing right now. When I see her work, when I see her act, even in life, what she gives is something that I’m aspiring to for myself”.
Now, in what could be termed as the most surprising element of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s relationship, is the fact that Ranbir’s former girlfriend, Deepika Padukone already knew about all of this even before Ranbir confirmed it to the media. Yes, you read that right!
As per a report in a Pinkvilla, a source close to the 35-year-old actor, revealed that Ranbir confided in former girlfriend, Deepika about his current relationship status. The source said, “RK and Deepika continue to be close friends, and keep each other's secrets. He told her about it and she was very happy for him and Alia. Whoa! We all know how thick Ranbir and Deepika’s relationship was at one point of time and the world knows how bitterly it had ended. Yet, Ranbir and Deepika managed to be close friends even after their break-up. It’s really rare to know that exes could be such close friends, to the point of confiding their topmost secret into each other.
Ranbir and Alia’s relationship rumours started when Ayan Mukerji’s next film Brahamstra started rolling. And then, the Sanju actor and Raazi actress marked their presence at Sonam and Anand’s reception bash together which catapulted the rumours to another level.
Post this, Alia was asked about Ranbir in Aap Ki Adalat, to which the 25-year-old actress replied, “You are absolutely right, we are more than friends... We are co-actors. We are working together in a beautiful film called 'Brahmastra' which will release next year”.
Alia has always been vocal about her crush on Ranbir. For instance, in Koffee with Karan, she narrated how Karan Johar once asked Alia to speak to Ranbir over the phone. Recounting the incident, she said, “I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You (Karan) called him up when Rockstar just released and you said, 'Here, talk to Ranbir. Tell him how much you love him'. And I spoke so much rubbish. I was just talking non-stop, and he was like, 'Yeah, that's very nice, Alia”".
In the GQ interview, where Ranbir said that ‘it’s too new’, he also revealed how it feels to fall in love with again. He expressed, “It always comes with a lot of excitement. It’s a new person, it comes with new beats. Old tricks become new tricks again- you know, being charming and romantic, all of that. I think I’m more balanced today. I value relationships more. I can appreciate hurt and what it does to a person much more than I could a couple years back”.
Well, we are really happy that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are dating. And it’s even joyful to know that Ranbir’s former girlfriend, Deepika Padukone already knew that he is dating Alia Bhatt.
