'Couple Friendly' Ending Explained, Are 'Shiva' And 'Mithra' Able To Solve Issues And Live Together?

The Telugu movie, Couple Friendly, which generated a lot of buzz on social media during its theatrical release is finally streaming on OTT platform. For the unversed, the film, directed by Ashwin Chandrasekar, which stars Santosh Sobhan and Manasa Varanasi is now out on the OTT giant, Amazon Prime Video. The plotline of Couple Friendly

The film, Couple Friendly is a romantic story of two youngsters, who end up in a live-in relationship. The movie opens with 'Shiva' (played by Santosh Sobhan), an interior design graduate from Nellore, who moves to Chennai to find a good job. On the other hand, 'Mithra' (played by Manasa Varanasi) also moves to Chennai to find an IT job. She lives in a women's hostel and is dealing with constant pressure from her family to get married. 

When 'Shiva' struggled to find a job, she started working as a bike rider part time. Meanwhile, 'Mithra' lies to her parents that she got a job. One random day, 'Shiva' and 'Mithra' meet through a bike ride-sharing. As the movie moves forward, the two become friends after meeting almost everyday because of their daily routines. Slowly and gradually, their conversation becomes more personal as they start sharing their dreams and frustrations about life. Eventually, they fall in love.

‘Shiva’ and ‘Mithra’ get into a live-in relationship

As the Telugu movie, Couple Friendly moves forward, 'Shiva' and 'Mithra' start living together in the same house. During this time, they start supporting each other. 'Mithra' even encouraged 'Shiva' to continue working towards his dreams. On the other hand, 'Shiva' also motivated 'Mithra' to continue her job search. Eventually, when things start to settle down, the couple starts facing problems. Gradually, when 'Mithra's' parents start to force her for marriage, she and 'Shiva' start facing complications in their relationship.

In the second half of the movie, Couple Friendly, 'Shiva' and 'Mithra' face multiple issues, emotionally. Slowly and gradually, they realise that love is not enough to stay happy, they need to be prepared for difficulties, responsibilities and more. Towards the end of the Telugu movie, the couple starts to understand their true feelings and the importance of patience, honesty and more. Eventually, 'Shiva' and 'Mithra' end up together. Overall, the movie explores how a mature relationship should be.

Reviews of Couple Friendly

When the film was released in theatres, it received a lot of positive reviews from the audience. One user of X (formerly Twitter) who had analysed the movie shared, "The first half feels very youthful and energetic, with several scenes that Gen-Z audiences will particularly enjoy. In the second half, the director shifts focus toward family emotions, and that’s where the film connects more deeply. Amid the heavy emotional moments, #YogiBabu’s comedy works as a good relief."

Another fan wrote, "A small twist in the second half makes the climax more emotionally intense. On the surface, the story may feel routine, but the emotional moments help the audience connect." A third user appreciated the actor and shared "#SantoshShobhan looks very good on screen and delivers the emotions effectively. However, my personal favourite is #ManasaVaranasi, she expresses emotions beautifully in several scenes."
