Police visited Brian Hickerson's home amid investigation into possible criminal conduct in Hayden Panettiere's death
As per recent updates, Hayden Panettiere's boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach Hickerson, were present at the scene when she was found dead in an Airbnb in Greenville, South Carolina. The update was mentioned in a police report and shared by NBC News on August 18, 2026. The next day, the cops, who are investigating the death of Hayden, visited Brian's family home in Greenville, South Carolina.
Two uniformed cops were reportedly seen outside Hayden's house on the morning of August 19, 2026. One of them knocked on the front door while another walked up their driveway. As per a TMZ report, the Greenville PD paid a visit to Brian Hickerson's home as part of their investigation into possible criminal conduct in Hayden Panettiere's death.
Notably, the autopsy revealed no foul play, and circumstantial evidence pointed to an overdose leading to Hayden's demise. Nevertheless, the cops reportedly haven't ruled out the possibility of criminal conduct in her death. The police's recent visit to Brian's home might have been with the intention of questioning him regarding any circumstances that might be connected to Hayden Panettiere's "unexpected" death.
Additionally, a law enforcement source told TMZ that Hayden's death investigation was triggered because it was "unexpected." They further added that the police were doing a parallel investigation with the coroner to determine the cause and manner of the late actress' death. They are currently awaiting the toxicology results of Hayden Panettiere.
Brian Hickerson's reaction during Hayden Panettiere's final moments revealed
A recent police report, which was shared by NBC News revealed the reaction of Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach Hickerson, during Hayden Panettiere's final moments and after her death. Zach was reportedly "very emotional" while emergency medical services professionals were "working on Hayden" and trying to revive her. Her lover, Brian, surprisingly wasn't visibly emotional at that time.
Brian Hickerson seemed to tear up only after his girlfriend was declared dead at the scene. The report further claimed that he directed police to a "bag of medication" the late actress was taking in her final days, leading up to her death. The information regarding Brian led fans to revisit his relationship with Hayden, which was marked by domestic violence, estrangement and reconciliation.
During Hayden and Brian's relationship, the actress even filed several domestic violence allegations against Brian, one of which landed him in jail in 2021. They were reported to have broken up around February 2020; however, recently, after her death, it was revealed that the couple secretly reconnected. Hayden reportedly kept her friends in the dark about her patch-up with Brian for quite some time, and when they learned about it, they became worried.
At that time, Hayden Panettiere's team reportedly asked her to maintain distance from Brian Hickerson in public for the sake of her career. The actress' camp allegedly felt that Brian was "bad for business" while she was promoting her tell-all memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning. Notably, the events took place just a couple of months before her demise.
