Hannah Gosselin appears keen to stay out of the very public feud between her brother, Collin Gosselin, and their mother, Kate Gosselin. Following the release of Collin's tell-all memoir earlier this month, Hannah shared a different perspective on their relationship as family tensions resurfaced.

After Hannah recently spoke about reconnecting with Kate and her other siblings, Collin is pushing back on her claim that they haven't spoken in nearly a year, insisting he has evidence of their time together.

Collin Gosselin challenges Hannah's account of their relationship

Hannah, 22, addressed the family situation in a TikTok Stories post on October 21, 2026, explaining that she wanted to distance herself from the controversy surrounding her brother's book. She wrote on her social media:

"I've decided to take a step back from the situation going on, considering I haven't lived with my dad in over a year and haven't spoken to Collin in close to a year."

Hannah also clarified that she had maintained a relationship with their mother and other siblings for several years. She said she would not comment further on Collin's behavior growing up or share details about her own childhood experiences with him.

However, when asked about her statement during his October 22, 2026, appearance on The View, Collin disputed her claim that they had been out of contact for so long. The former reality TV star said he had seen Hannah several times over the past year and even offered to show evidence of their meetings. He said:

"All families are complicated. I've seen Hannah many times in the past year. Me, myself, my father, at our house. I have pictures if you want to see them."

Collin went on to say that Hannah's new statement "sounded like a lot of the words of my mother," and suggested his sister was caught between family members with conflicting relationships and perspectives. He said he understood how painful it could be to struggle to maintain relationships with siblings, given that he remains estranged from several of his own. He explained:

"I know what it feels like to have to fight to have a relationship with your siblings. I don't have one with my siblings, and I know how much that hurts. Not only is she caught in the middle, but I do believe my mom is either leveraging finances or Hannah's relationship with our siblings over Hannah."

The In the Shadow of Eight author alleged that their mother was using financial matters or Hannah's relationships with their siblings to influence her decisions. "Nobody wants to believe their mom has done things like this," Collin said during the interview, adding that he understood how difficult it could be to have complicated feelings about a parent.

Collin's memoir reopens long-standing family tensions

The siblings' conflicting accounts surface just as Collin's memoir brings renewed attention to the Gosselin family's history. The eight siblings became household names through Jon & Kate Plus 8, which followed their parents, Jon and Kate, raising their twins, Cara and Mady, and sextuplets Hannah, Collin, Aaden, Alexis, Joel and Leah.

The original series premiered in 2007. After Jon and Kate announced their separation in 2009, the show was renamed Kate Plus 8 and continued in various forms until 2017.

Collin's book, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, was released on October 13, 2026. It recounts his allegations of mistreatment by Kate, including claims about his time at a psychiatric facility in Pennsylvania, where he was sent in 2016. He has alleged that his mother's actions were intended to silence him, claims Kate has denied.

In a 2023 statement, Kate said his medical specialists recommended decisions about Collin's treatment and that they were intended to protect him and the family. Jon, meanwhile, has publicly supported his son, pushing back against Kate's claims about Collin's mental health.

The latest dispute also arrives as the family prepares for an upcoming Netflix documentary about their years on reality television. Collin, Hannah and Jon are among those expected to feature in the project, which will examine the family's life in front of the cameras and the different accounts that have emerged since.

On The View, Collin suggested that Hannah had shared some of her own experiences during filming. He speculated that her recent statement might be an attempt to manage the response to the documentary. He has previously also expressed affection for his sister and said he would remain there for her regardless of her relationship with their mother or other siblings.

Hannah has yet to respond to Collin's counterclaims about their alleged estrangement.
