The much-loved and celebrated martial artist-turned-actor tragically passed away at the age of 86. For the unversed, the heartbreaking news was confirmed by his family on the actor’s Instagram handle. Even though they did not reveal the cause of his death, multiple devastated fans poured in love and blessings for them.
Ever since Chuck Norris’ death has been announced, all the attention has shifted to his personal life. For the unversed, he was previously married to Dianne Holechek. Years later, he tied the knot with Gena O'Kelly. However, did you know that Chuck Norris had a difficult childhood with an absent father? The actor had mentioned the same in his autobiography. While Chuck Norris never directly spoke about his absent father and difficult childhood, in his autobiography, the actor had explained that his father was an alcoholic. Chuck Norris and his siblings were raised by his mother. If a report by Mens Journal is to be believed, Chuck’s autobiography begins with the line:
"Nothing ever came easy for me, not even being born."
According to the same report, Chuck Norris was born in a small town in Ryan, Oklahoma. He had described him as a 'blue baby', who was born to an alcoholic father, who was majorly absent from his life. The actor and his two younger brothers were raised by their mother. Due to his tough childhood, Chuck Norris dreamed of becoming a police officer; however, he couldn't pursue it. Eventually, he ended up joining the Air Force.
After completing his schooling, Chuck Norris joined the Air Force during the Cold War. This period proved to be the turning point of his life. During his time in the Air Force, he learnt martial arts. In his autobiography, Chuck revealed that due to martial arts "many of the psychological insecurities started to subside." He also became more "communicative and assertive" and had a better self-image. It is worth mentioning that after a year of immense hard work, he earned his first black belt.

Later, Chuck Norris returned back to the United States, where he started teaching karate to people. He had once shared that "for the first time in my life, I had accomplished something difficult on my own." Some of the people who learnt martial arts from him were Steve McQueen, Bob Barker and Priscilla Presley. Later, when he started facing financial problems, Steve McQueen suggested that he should start acting. However, he laughed it off at that time. Later, he described it as a big opportunity and shared:
"When a door shuts in your life, that doesn’t mean that a bigger door isn’t going to open. If I hadn’t lost my schools, I’d still be there teaching karate. But because I lost those schools I was forced to seek another avenue. And acting is a bigger door than karate."
Talking about his acting journey, Chuck Norris made his debut with The Way Of The Dragon. Over the years, he appeared in A Force Of One, An Eye For An Eye, Missing In Action, Code Of Silence and more, but his breakthrough came with Walker, Texas Ranger. After becoming a popular Hollywood star, Chuck once shared in an interview:
"Everything in my life has been tough. Nothing I’ve done has come easy. Whether it’s been in the karate world, the movie world, or my marriage."
