Marriage is one of the most beautiful gifts that two people in love can give to one another. You may develop a thousand cold feet before you take the ‘big plunge’ but trust me you, when you do, you realise it didn’t happen earlier. The very thought of having a permanent roommate for life can give you innumerous sleepless nights, but when you do find ‘that one’, you will realise why it didn’t work out with anyone else! The same had happened with Charu Asopa, who had added a ‘Sen’ to her surname after tying the knot with Sushmita Sen’s brother, Rajeev Sen this year. Speculations about a possible relationship brimming between Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen had been making headlines in the first quarter of the year. But it was only on May 04, 2019, when Rajeev’s sister, Sushmita Sen had confirmed their relationship and on June 16, 2019, the duo tied the knot in Goa, in the presence of their family members and friends. They had gotten married as per Rajasthani and Bengali rituals and we still drool over their wedding pictures. Hardly 5 months post Charu’s wedding, the Asopa family is all set to host another wedding ceremony. Find out whose!
Charu Asopa Sen surprised everyone when she posted pictures of herself dressed in a pink lehenga and complementing Rajasthani jewellery as she walked with the rest of the Asopa family for what looked like the Pithi Dastoor ritual. It is a Rajasthani pre-wedding custom wherein married women of a family fetch water from a nearby water source for the bride/groom to bathe in. In case you are wondering whose wedding it is, Charu’s brother, Chetan Asopa is getting married and the sister is all hands-on with her sister duties! Sharing an array of pictures from the same, Charu wrote, “Vighno ko harna mangal karna, Karaj sidh kar jana , mere ghar main padharo gajanandji... Shree ganeshaye namah… #sadeveerediweddinghaiji @chetanasopa #humladkewalehain.” Also checkout a picure of the soon-to-be-groom with his star sister:
Doesn’t she look totally stunning? Charu Asopa Sen belongs to the Rajasthani community (now a partial Bong too!) and took great pride in flaunting traditional Rajasthani jewellery for her wedding. For her wedding, Charu had looked beautiful in red and golden and was a treat to the eyes! While we were adoring how amazing she looked, it was her unique Rajasthani chooda that had caught our fancy. The beauty about Rajasthani chooda is that it has intricate designs all over it and designed in a way to set it apart. And the same had gone for Charu's chooda too! In an interview with the Bombay Times before her wedding, Charu Asopa had shared in great details, all about her wedding. Elaborating on the functions, she had stated, “I have always dreamt of having a white wedding. So, we plan to have a Christian-themed engagement and I will wear a white gown for it. The idea is to start with white — the colour stands for peace and purity — and then add colours to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be colour-coordinated for all our functions. While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals, the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani. I am in a shopping mode now. I haven’t taken up any new project, as I want to spend time with Rajeev after marriage."
Charu Asopa Sen and her hubby, Rajeev Sen surely look like a match made straight out of heaven. In an interview with the Bombay Times, the Mere Angne Mein actress had revealed if it was love at first sight for them. She had shared, "After our first meeting, we had decided to catch up again over coffee, but I left for my hometown, Bikaner. I was on a much-needed break after my show, Jiji Maa, ended. In fact, I hadn’t decided when to return. However, as luck would have it, I was offered KarnSangini and had to report on the set the very next day. I texted Rajeev from the set and told him that we could meet for coffee. I had assumed that the meeting would end in half an hour. However, we went on talking for hours until I told him that I had to leave as I had an early call time the next day. We started chatting, spending time together and the rest, as they say, is history. I don’t know if I can call it love at first sight, but it looks like that.” (Must Read: Deepika Padukone Gives A Glimpse Of How Her Hubby, Ranveer Singh Is Preparing For First Anniversary)
