Real-Life Kargil War Hero, Naik Deepchand Hails Sunny Deol's Film, 'Border 2', 'Humari Puri Army...'

Border 2, starring Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Sunny Deol and more is all set to hit the theatres on January 23, 2026. For the unversed, the film, directed by Anurag Singh has been making rounds on the internet since a long time. While some are appreciating Sunny Deol's action, others are trolling Varun Dhawan's acting. Amid that, a real-life soldier, who fought the Kargil war, recently hailed the narrative of the film.

Kargil hero appreciates the effort of the makers of Border 2

Recently, a real-life soldier, who fought the Kargil war named Naik Deepchand appreciated the Sunny Deol starrer film. For the unversed, a clip of the Kargil hero is going viral on social media, in which he is seen lauding the effort of the makers of Border 2. He further stated that the film brought back multiple memories of his own days during the war. Naik Deepchand was quoted as saying:

"Sabka mehnat ache se dikh raha hai. jo kalakaar rehta hai uske andar sama chuke hain. Jis Tarah trailer dikhaya gaya hai to aise lagta hai jaise main khud dekhta tha jab Kargil ka yudh lad raha tha main to main apne aap ko samarpit kar rha tha ki kash dekho humara scene kaise kar rha hai. To wo yaadein ek dum se aa gayi thi to bahut hi acha laga hai aur film bahut achi lagegi aur humari puri army bhi ye dekhegi. Rashtra ko kya samarpit hai rashtra ko pura piroya gaya hai."

Sunny Deol talks about the upcoming film, Border 2

A few days ago, Sunny Deol opened up about the upcoming film, Border 2, at an event. He had opened up about the positive response he is getting by the audience. At an event, Sunny Deol expressed his gratitude towards the advance bookings and also explained his excitement for the release. According to a report by Filmibeat, Sunny Deol had shared:

"Whenever you wear the uniform there's an excitement that you feel and you feel you are also a soldier. We don't train like soldiers but we carry the same emotions inside us. It's just that we get the opportunity to essay the character of a soldier and 99 percent times it is the uniform that give us the strength to play the part, besides we've to add certain things from our end."

More about Border 2

Border 2 is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. It is a spiritual sequel to the 1997 iconic film, Border. For the unversed, the original film was directed by J.P. Dutta and was based on the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film starred Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and Tabu. 

Reportedly, the upcoming film, Border 2 revisits the 1971 conflict. The film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh and more. For those who do not know, in mid 2025, Border 2 made headlines regarding Diljit's role. It is worth mentioning that Border 2 was recently cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification with no cuts and it carries a U/A 13+ certificate.
