The much awaited film of 2026, Border 2 is all set to hit the theatres on January 23, 2026, just a few days before Republic Day. Well, the film, directed by Anuraj Singh, has been generating a lot of buzz for its cast and narrative. Well, as the sequel is about to hit the theatres soon, take a look at the reported fee the cast has taken for Border 2.

What to expect from Border 2?

The original film, Border, was based on the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and even after decades the 1997 film is still considered one of the finest and most emotional films. The upcoming film brings together a strong cast of Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh and more. In the sequel, the viewers can expect strong and patriotic storytelling. The film will feature intense battle fields, war drama, emotions and sacrifice.

Sunny Deol was the highest paid actor in Border 2

While the exact salary of the cast has not been revealed by the makers of the film, a report by Asianet News has shared an alleged amount. According to the same, Sunny Deol was the highest-paid actor of the film. Reportedly, he took home Rs. 50 crore for his role. It is worth mentioning that Sunny Deol was a part of the original film. 

The fee of Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh for Border 2

Apart from Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh were also paid a hefty amount for their powerful performance in the upcoming film. According to the same report by Asianet News, Varun Dhawan charged between Rs. 8-10 crore. It is worth mentioning that the Main Tera Hero is well known for his action scenes. On the other hand, Diljit Dosanjh took home Rs. 4-5 crore. It is worth mentioning that in mid 2025, the Punjabi singer grabbed attention for his role in the film after a major controversy.

The supporting cast too charged a whopping amount

Apart from the main lead of Border 2, the supporting cast includes Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh and Medha Rana. While their cast salary hasn’t been revealed by media outlets, it can be said that they took a hefty amount for the same. Reportedly, the supporting cast took a salary in crores. It is worth mentioning that Ahan Shetty is Suniel Shetty’s son.

Sunny Deol got emotional at the song launch of Border 2

Recently, during a special event of Border 2, actor, Sunny Deol got visibly emotional as he missed his late father, Dharmendra. During the same, he also revealed that the real inspiration behind him doing Border was Dharmendra’s film, Haqeeqat. He concluded by saying, ‘main zyada kuch nahi bol paunga’. For those who do not know, Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025. Sunny Deol was quoted as saying:

"Maine Border ki thi kyunki jab maine apne papa ki film Haqeeqat dekhi thi, woh mujhe bahut pyaari lagi thi. Tab main bahut chhota tha. Jab main actor bana, tab maine tay kiya ki main bhi papa jaise ek film karunga. JP Dutta saab ke saath maine baat ki, aur hum dono ne decide kiya ki hum iss subject par ek film banayenge, jo bohot hi pyaara hai aur aap sab ke dilon mein basa hua hai."
