Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away in November 2025 at the age of 89 after a health battle due to age-related complications. It was a major heartbreak for Dharmendra's fans, family members and his close ones. During that time, the paps were always on duty and were providing every minute detail to the actor's fans through social media, and it was Sunny Deol who lost his cool and slammed the photographers. Later, during an interview, a photographer also hit back at Sunny Deol for his behaviour, and now, Bobby Deol defended his brother over the same.

Bobby Deol defended Sunny Deol for slamming paps during Dharmendra's illness

Bobby Deol recently sat for an interview with Zoom and talked about the past incident. He revealed that he wouldn't talk about the same topic, since it didn't solely happen to their family, but it also actually happens with everyone out there and just because they are famous, people tend to pay much attention to them.

Bobby added that it has now turned into people's habit to take a video and put it out there if anything goes wrong, without realising the seriousness of that incident, and how that particular thing may affect others. He added that people need to realise that, and they might actually stop getting carried away with such videos once they properly understand. Bobby could be quoted as saying:

"I don’t want to indulge in talking about this because it is not just happening to my family; it is happening to so many people out there. Just because my family is a famous family, people notice these things. But in any normal town, anywhere, when something goes wrong, people just want a video and put it on Instagram. They don’t see the pain that the person or the family is going through. I think people need to realise that. Once they do, they may stop getting carried away with reels and things like that."

Bobby Deol talked about losing his father, Dharmendra

In the same interview, Bobby Deol spoke about losing his dad. There's no denying the fact that losing a parent is always painful for a child, and speaking about the same, Bobby Deol mentioned that life is just like that, and no one is prepared for what is going to happen, and it has always been like this.

Bobby further added that he feels very positive, and that he feels his dad's energy and warmth around him. He agreed that it's tough for people to deal with losing a parent, but he also added that he feels that Dharmendra's energy is around him, beside him and within him, which makes him want to work hard. Bobby Deol could be quoted as saying:

"I can feel his energy, his warmth. Losing a parent is always tough for anyone. Anyone who has lost a parent has to deal with it, and there is no fixed way of dealing with it. You just have to find your own way. But I feel my father is everywhere with me, around me, within me. Even right now, he is here, watching me, and he is very proud. I think it is his energy that is making me want to work hard."

When a pap slammed Sunny Deol for abusing them

For the unversed, during Dharmendra's illness, when paps were recording several clips, Sunny Deol came out and asked the photographers if they didn't have family members. He used an abusive term and said, "Aapke ghar mein maa-baap, bachche hain? Sharam nahi aati?.." Slamming the same, popular pap, Varinder Chawla said Sunny Deol is like Jaya Bachchan, while adding that both of these two people are angry. The pap revealed that they have been working with the Deols for decades, and they were actually clicking the clips from 20-30 feet away.

Bobby also mentioned that Sunny shouldn't have used abusive language, as the photographers were only doing their job. Varinder was associated with the Deols for years and released their family statements and PR stuff, as well, thus, as per the pap, the actor should have reached out, asking for privacy, rather than using such a term.
