Blake Lively alleges Justin Baldoni hired a PR crisis firm to take her down
Blake Lively testified about how she got her hands on the texts that she used in her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. While the case has come to an end, TMZ has now reported some shocking details. According to the report, in her July 2025 deposition, Blake was asked how she obtained the texts from publicist Jennifer Abel's phone.
For the unversed, these texts were later a big part of her claim that Justin Baldoni had hired a crisis PR firm to take her down after she complained about sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us. While Justin denied the claims, the case was later settled before trial. However, the question remained: how exactly did Blake get her hands on the texts?
In her deposition, Blake said her friend Ashley Avignone, who is also friends with Taylor Swift, told her about the text messages. Blake alleged that Ashley told her that she knew a publicist named Stephanie Jones, who was trying to get a hold of Blake because the phone contained the "most disturbing messages she's ever read in her 20- to 30-plus-year career."

According to reports, Stephanie Jones was trying to get a hold of Blake Lively because she said that as a mother and woman, "she was sobbing reading the messages." The actress claimed that she had reached out to her after she thought that Blake deserved to see what had "been done to" her. Blake said Stephanie claimed she tried to reach Blake's publicist, Leslie Sloane, but was brushed off.
In the deposition, Blake testified that Stephanie Jones told her she had Jennifer Abel's phone because Abel had been her employee. While Stephanie didn't go into further details, Blake said she eventually spoke to Stephanie on the phone. Blake's team eventually subpoenaed Stephanie's texts for use in court.
As it was previously reported, Blake Lively's lawsuit against Wayfarer Studios and Baldoni was settled weeks before the scheduled trial. TMZ also reported that, while the lawsuit was settled, Justin Baldoni had refused to cater to any of Blake Lively's "over-inclusive" demands. According to reports, the director-actor is firing back at Lively's request for a seven-figure sum to cover her legal bills in their It Ends With Us battle.
The court document obtained by the news outlet showed that Justin and his Wayfarer team have argued about the amount Blake was seeking. The basis of their argument was that there was no evidence to support the actress's claims. It was further reported that Justin Baldoni had called the ask wildly "overinflated", claiming that Blake Lively has not been able to present any credible evidence to justify her request.
