Shaadh ceremony is a Bengali ritual performed for the pregnant ladies by their family members and close ones. Also known as a baby shower or Godh Bharai ceremony, shaadh is usually organised in the fifth or seventh month of a woman's pregnancy. In this ceremony, the mommy-to-be is showered with lots of love and blessings as well as pampered with her favourite food. This ceremony holds a vital place in the Indian traditions.
As Bollywood actress, Bipasha Basu is all set to step into a new phase of her life, i.e. motherhood, her family hosted her shaadh ceremony. For the unversed, it was on August 16, 2022, when Bipasha and her husband, Karan Singh Grover, had announced her pregnancy with a beautiful picture from their maternity shoot. Since then, their fans have been drooling over the soon-to-be parents.

On September 8, 2022, Bipasha Basu's family performed her baby shower ceremony. For the event, the mommy-to-be opted for a vibrant pink silk saree and accessorised her look with gold jewellery. Keeping her tresses open, she completed her look with subtle makeup and a bindi. On the other hand, her hubby, Karan Singh Grover, complemented her in a cream-hued kurta pyjama. The couple looked adorable together. Sharing the pictures, Bipasha penned:
"My sweet babies!"

Bipasha also shared a beautiful video from the ceremony, in which her mother can be seen performing the rituals. From doing aarti to warding off evil eyes and pampering the mommy-to-be with lavish food, Bipasha's mother did it all. In the video, we can also see Bipasha gorging on a plate full of her favourite Bengali food prepared by her mother, and the smile on her face spoke volumes about her happiness and joy. Alongside the video, the actress penned:
"Aamaar Shaadh. Thank you Maa."

Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Bipasha Basu had opened up about the beautiful phase of her life and shared that she believes it was the right time for her and her hubby, Karan Singh Grover, to have a baby. She had further revealed that she and Karan have always hoped for a baby girl, and they have started calling their baby 'she'. Talking about the same, the mommy-to-be had said:
"Karan and I were clear from the beginning that we wanted a baby. I don’t have any thoughts on why it is so late or why it took time. For me, this is the right time. I believe this is when we were supposed to have our baby. We believe in manifestation. From the time we have wanted a child, we have hoped for a baby girl. I know a baby is a beautiful gift, and we are supposed to be in acceptance of any gender, and the bigger picture is that, but we call our baby ‘she’. We believe it’s a she, and we have believed that since the time we decided to have a baby."
