One amongst the latest additions to embrace fatherhood is Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon actor, Barun Sobti. Surprise, surprise!
Well, yeah, Barun Sobti and his wife Pashmeen Manchanda are expecting their first baby this year. The lovebirds tied the knot on December 12, 2010, and after eight blissful years of their doubles' life, they are now stepping into the next phase of their marriage. And just like any newbie parents, these two are super-excited and waiting to meet their little one like crazy! The couple has managed to keep the news under the wraps until yesterday, on May 27, 2019, when Pashmeen had a fun-filled baby shower ceremony. Surprised yet again? Pashmeen is in her third trimester already and we can get to hear the news anytime soon. On her baby shower, the mom-to-be was glowing in a pink off-shoulder maxi dress. On the other hand, dad-to-be could be seen sporting cool casual. Both of them had a tag of ‘mom-to-be’ and ‘dad-to-be’ attached to their outfits. Sai, Karan Wahi, Akshay Dogra, Mohit Sehgal, Gautam Hegde, Sanaya Irani, Abhaas Mehta, Dalljiet Kaur, etc., were present at the celebrations. Here are the pictures from the baby shower ceremony:
Barun's closest friend, Sanaya Irani took to her official Instagram handle and shared a lovely picture. Along with the same, she wrote, "From best friends to soon to be best parents in the world ... from sunny to soon to be sunny masi cannot wait for this journey to begin love you guys #babyontheway #soexcited." Not just her, even Ridhi Dogra took to her Instagram handle and shared lovely clicks from the baby shower. She captioned her post as, "The laundry in their house is about to get super cute My heart and warmest love both you sweethearts. Me and my homies from a very special afternoon."
Barun got so much appreciation for his ambitious anti-hero role in IPKKND. For the role of Advay Singh Raizada (Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 2), he had to sport an unshaven look and had once stated that it was loved by his wife Pashmeen. Here’s what the actor was quoted as saying, “Pashmeen loves the unshaved appearance. My previous roles always required a simple look and I couldn’t experiment much. With this show, I’ve finally been able to get this look, and it’s interesting. Once in an interaction with the Hindustan Times, Barun revealed that he never planned for his birthday since the day he got married to Pashmeen. Barun had remarked, “Since the day I got married, I never got to plan my birthday.” He had further gone to add, “My wife (Pashmeen Manchanda) does everything. She usually has a surprise ready. She gifted me a guitar once with the expectation that I would learn to play the instrument, but it never happened. Also, in a media interaction, Barun had once shared that he and Pashmeen too fight on silly things, “There haven’t been any lows as such, but like any other couple, we fight on and off.” Once asked in an interview, what she dislikes about him, Barun had replied, "That I presume things at times. She says, ‘How can you understand what I am thinking if I haven’t even told you about it yet?" Explaining the rapport they share, Barun had revealed, "My wife knows that I love her too much so she is fine with the intimate scenes I do. She understands my work as an actor."
When The Times of India once asked him about the reason he has been tight-lipped about his personal life, he had remarked, “I have never hidden my marital status. I have been married for a year-and-a-half now to Pashmeen Manchanda, who also happens to be my first girlfriend.” Further, talking about doing intimate scenes, he had quipped, “It’s totally awkward to do such scenes. It’s more difficult for a girl to do such a scene than a male actor. But we managed to pull it off really well. We were simply playing our parts and had fun enacting the scene. And further revealing Pashmeen’s reaction to such scenes, he had shared, “My wife knows that I love her too much so she is fine with the intimate scenes I do. She also knows that only if my role justifies such a scene will I do it. She understands my work as an actor.”
Well, now that we know Barun and Pashmeen are all set to welcome their little one, we can’t keep calm!
