Avika Gor rose to popularity with her role as ‘Anandi’ in the television serial, Balika Vadhu. After this, she once again won the hearts of her fans with her role as ‘Roli’ in Sasural Simar Ka. However, Avika did not limit herself to the small screen and ventured into cinemas with the Telegu romcom, Uyyala Jampala in 2013. More recently, she was featured in a music video titled Ladki Tu Kamaal Ki, opposite the West Indies cricketer, Andre Russell.
Avika Gor, in a recent episode of Digital Commentary’s podcast, Unfolding Talents, opened up about the often misunderstood world of celebrity culture. She candidly shared her perspective on celebrities’ fake publicity stunts, revealing that calling the paparazzi is a common practice. She even shared her own experience, admitting that she, too, has called the paparazzi when she dresses up and goes to the airport. She said:
“Let’s be honest, it’s all planned. Everybody knows, everybody is calling the paps, ye sabko pata hai. Maine bhi kisi interview mein mention kiya tha ki main bhi jab airport par spot hoti hun, you will see me the best or the most peacefully dressed warna aise koi airport pe nahi jata, main jab dressed hoti hun tabhi bulwati hun.”

Furthermore, Avika discussed an incident when she was traveling with a bunch of cricketers. They exited the airport together while a few paparazzi were waiting outside. She emphasised that it was her choice not to get spotted that day and revealed that she took another exit route and wore sunglasses and a hoodie to hide her identity.
She further mentioned that many celebrities are getting a lot of attention due to the paparazzi, and she is truly happy for them. But when it comes to Avika, she likes the comfort of her home and sleeps more than getting spotted. The actress shared that she mostly likes to avoid such things, but at the end of the day, believes in the philosophy of ‘to each his own’. In her words:
“A lot of people are getting a lot of attention that way which is good for them, I am happy for them. Mujhse itna sajna sawarna nahi hota. I would go on a shoot, get ready there, packup ke baad makeup nikalo, ghar pahuncho soo, that’s actually my focus. Rather than ghar se thoda dur hai gym wahan jao kyunki media wahan hogi ye sab nahi hota mujhse. Toh main mostly ye sab avoid karti hun. When it comes to a lot of people making headlines because of this toh yaar to each his own, who are we to judge.”

The same excerpt from Avika’s latest interaction was shared by Digital Commentary on their Instagram page. Soon netizens started penning down their thoughts on the actress’ revelations. One user said, “She admitted that she too calls. Very few admit.” Another one wrote, “I don't agree because so many times celebrities run from media because they are not dressed up well..suddenly they try to hide faces.” Meanwhile, a third netizen mentioned, “Her assumptions… nobody cares about paps.. or think kaise lag rahe hai… that's why they don’t use back door.. you are conscious. N at your level actress means beginners tend to call paps… not all. It’s your choice to always look good in front of paps… not everyone’s.”
