Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have taken their own sweet time to make their relationship official to the world. It was on June 26, 2019, i.e., Arjun’s birthday, when pop-ups from their Instagram handles, which could be read as, "Happy bday my crazy, insanely funny n amazing @arjunkapoor love n happiness always" and "She has my heart… (literally)" had put the speculations to rest and confirmed their relationship, that we all have been waiting for with bated breath.
On August 6, 2019, Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora were snapped at the airport, twinning in red, as they left together for Melbourne for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IIFM). A clip from the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is making the rounds on the internet wherein we can see Arjun’s possessiveness for his ladylove, Malaika. When host, Karan Tacker showered Malaika with praises and said, “You look absolutely gorgeous even after a 20-hour flight. How lucky you are Arjun sitting next to her”, Arjun took the mic from him and jokingly added, “Woh peeche baithi hai uske saath flirt kar na.”
For the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Malaika Arora wore a stunning a bright brilliant red gown from Benchellal's new collection N 7. Her gown had a blazer on top which opened up into a splendid ball gown from the waist. The blazer also had extended shoulder lapels, a voluminous sash around the waist, a buckled belt which cinched her waist and a plunging neckline which showed off her cleavage. Malaika accentuated her look with stunning diamond earrings, stacked up rings and for makeup, she opted for basics with her hair let loose. On the other hand, Arjun Kapoor had looked dapper in a Herringbone and Sui black suit with polo neck tee and flaunted his Panipat look.
In a recent interview with the Filmfare, Arjun Kapoor had talked about coming out in open for his relationship with Malaika Arora, and how his family has been supportive of his choices. Speaking about how happy his family is with his relationship with Malaika, Arjun had stated, “They are happy. That's the reason I have been able to come out. There is genuine happiness for me. I have been through hell. I have been through a roller-coaster... from the age of 10-11 till 33 today. My parents separated when I was around 11 years old. Today I have some stability in my life and if someone gives me happiness, my family won't be against it. I am genuinely happy. That is why a Friday at the box-office doesn't decide my life. Three years back, I had have been like, I am dying! What's gonna happen? Revealing what made him come out in the open about his relationship with Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor had said, “We've come out because we feel the media has given us dignity. There's a certain understanding the media has... they've been respectful, kind, honest and decent about it. That is why I felt comfortable. You recoil when there's a certain "gandhagi" that comes with the territory. When purposely people irk you by saying, writing or asking things... there hasn't been any of that. Where the paps are concerned, we give them photos when walking in and out of a place. It is normal. We talk to them. There's a certain ease. I told them don't sit under the house just because it looks like we're hiding, when we're not. Let it be natural. Let it be normal. I don't want my neighbours being disturbed, I don't want her neighbours being disturbed. We're not doing anything wrong. I don't want that story being conveyed that we're still hiding, when we're not. They understood that.”
Putting an end to his marriage speculations with Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor had remarked, “I'm not getting married. I understand why there are speculations. Because in my own house people would ask tu shaadi kab kar raha hai? It's a very organic Indian question. If you're with someone for even three days, the marriage question pops up. Shaadi karlo, tumhari umar ho gayi hai, abhi kitna sochoge? 33 for most people in India is great age to get married, but not for me. I still have time. If I've not hidden my relationship, why will I hide my marriage yaar?”
Even Malaika Arora had talked about her relationship with Arjun Kapoor and rubbishing wedding speculations, she was quoted as saying by Zoom TV, "I think happiness is a state of mind and yes, why go into histrionics. Yes, I am happy, why have so much explanation, yes I am happy. In the business (showbiz), everybody is at the receiving end of all of this (speculations about marriage). No one is spared of these kinds of conjectures so to speak. Like we have said, there’s no marriage on the cards right now. Media has been very patient, understanding and very pro.
