Ankita Lokhande became a star overnight when she had paired with the late Sushant Singh Rajput on the daily soap, Pavitra Rishta, that had released 12 years ago on June 1. While the show had given her a lot of recognition and Archana and Manav had made a place in the hearts of the audiences with their subtle yet adorable love story, this reel-life duo had fallen for each other in their real-life as well. Marking the occasion of the completion of twelve years for Pavitra Rishta, Ankita got nostalgic and had penned a heartfelt post for the show and had expressed that this show has made her what she is today.

Ankita had posted a video with the title track of Pavitra Rishta and the video was a collage of scenes from the show featuring the late Sushant Singh Rajput and her, as well as other co-stars including Hiten Tejwani, who had, later on, replaced Sushant in the show as the male lead. Tagging the cast and crew of the show, Ankita's post makes special mention of Sushant with the hashtag #sushantsinghrajput. The actress wrote, "12 years of Pavitra rishta. 12Years!! Ohh, Yes Yes It's 12 Years Of Pavitra Rishta, Time Flies Really Quickly. With more than 66 Awards #Pavitrarishta remains to be one of the most loved show on Indian Television. Here's to 12 glorious years of this iconic show. Which not only gave me Archana but love all across the globe and made me who I'm today. Ankita Lokhande hosted an Instagram Live to mark twelve years of Pavitra Rishta. In the short video, Ankita was seen dressed in a white ensemble and she had kept a Pavitra Rishta-themed cake in front of her. The actress shared her journey in the show and said that it was Sushant who had taught her acting on the sets of Pavitra Rishta. Speaking about him she said, "Sushant is no longer with us and without him Pavitra Rishta is incomplete. Archana ka Manav sirf wahi tha and without him, everything is incomplete. But I am sure, wherever he is, he is watching us and he's happy, wherever he is." Ankita also shared that, "Sushant always taught me acting. I wasn't an actor. He was the one who used to teach me what is acting. Because I was a junior, he was a senior who always taught me. He was a brilliant actor, co-star and I was very fortunate to work with him." Ankita also thanked Ekta Kapoor for believing in her and giving her the opportunity to become Archana.

Pavitra Rishta had led to Archana and Manav becoming household names. The duo had dated for six years and parted ways in 2016. However, Ankita has time and again proved that it is not always necessary to hate your ex. When Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Bandra, Ankita had stood beside his family and demanded justice for Sushant. On June 1, 2021, as Ankita was nostalgic on Pavitra Rishta's completion of twelve long years, she was also heartbroken because it was during this month last year that Sushant had left us for heavenly abode. Ankita had shared a story on her Instagram handle that could be read as "June" followed by a broken heart emoticon.
