Karan Patel and Ankita Bhargava had never met each other despite the fact that Karan had worked with Ankita’s father, Abhay Bhargava in the popular show, Ye Hai Mohabbatein. Cupid had stuck Karan and Ankita in the form of Aly Goni, who had introduced the two and was the reason for their lovely union. It was on December 14, 2019, when a stork had visited Karan and Ankita’s life and blessed them with a little angel, whom they have lovingly named, Mehr. Ever since, Mehr’s birth, Karan and Ankita never miss a chance to share adorable moments with their little bundle of joy. On Valentine’s Day, 2021, Ankita had shared an adorable throwback memory with her little angel. In the picture, Ankita was seen cutting a cake, whereas, Karan was playing with little Mehr. Along with the picture, Ankita had written, “And I woke up with this Memory from my Photos Gallery! This Day Last Year! Happy Valentines Day and Happy 14 Months my Love!”
On March 15, 2021, Ankita Bhargava took to her IG handle and shared pictures of Mehr reading her book. In the pictures, Mehr looked adorable as she sat on her mommy’s lap and engrossed herself in her book. Along with the pictures, Ankita revealed how she inculcated the habit of reading in Mehr from a very early stage. She revealed the reason behind putting Mehr into this habbit and wrote, “Mehr was yet to be born when I had decided that I would want my baby to inculcate the habit of reading right from the start. This is one addiction I wish I Had! But I never land up finishing any book that i start reading,I always leave it mid way! Sadly!”
Ankita further revealed how she begun the process of reading and stated that she had pre-ordered some books when Mehr was a baby. She continued, “For the FIRST & SECOND MONTHI had pre ordered some high contrast flash cards apt for new born babies.Since they dont really see colors for the first few weeks of life. Black and white cards with various shapes and images. Hold these cards 10-12” away from the baby and let them glance at the images. Use one card at a time. Keep showing the same card for 3-4 days before introducing the next one.Also keep telling your baby what it is that you are showing them for eg A Circle, Square, Rabbit etc etc. Be slow. Be Patient. For the third month, Ankita had introduced books with images and colours. Explaining the same, the doting mommy wrote, “For the THIRD Month and beyond. I added a high contrast image book which had the colours BLACK & WHITE along with BRIGHT YELLOW. It had BIG images and words together. For eg. Mommy, Daddy, Dog etc etc. And also a safe mirror on the last page for the baby to look at their own self while U take their name and tell them what they see! Its really good for Name association!"
She also introduced some other engaging books later and shared that Mehr had fallen in love with reading. Revealing how proud she is of her daughter, Ankita concluded her note, “Along with this I introduced a Peek-A-Boo Flap book. It was Colourful and had Big images with a flap on each page. These flap books are very exciting for babies,cos there is a surprise for them on each page. I had a Zoo Story flap book, So with each page I would read out the Name of the animal,The 2 lines of the story and open the flap of the book saying Peek-a-boo very animatedly and Mehr would get all super duper happy seeing me do all this ! Mehr fell in love with Books and Reading! Not a night goes by without our reading time together. She tells me which book she wants to read and points at things and asks me what they are and tries to repeat what i tell her.
