Ananya Panday is one of the most-loved faces in Bollywood. The diva has carved her own niche in the film industry, and is known for her acting mettle, sartorial picks and glamorous looks. She made her debut with the film, Student Of The Year 2 and has not looked back on her professional life since. Daughter of Chunky Panday, Ananya was last seen in the film, Dream Girl 2. And now, Ananya celebrated her film’s massive success at the box-office, and she couldn’t be happier.
It seems that Ananya is bustling with joy at the moment, as her recently released film, Dream Girl 2 is breaking all the records at the box office. For the unversed, the film stars Ayushmann Khurrana as the main protagonist, and is a sequel to the 2019 film by the same name. Taking to her IG handle on September 12, 2023, Ananya Panday announced a happy moment in her career, as her film, Dream Girl 2 surpassed the 100-crore mark at the box office. Dropping a BTS scene from one of her dance sequences in the film, along with a snap of her and Ayushmann, Ananya captioned the post as:
“My first century!! it’s not just about the number (which I do admit feels great) but it’s also proof of the love #DreamGirl2 has gotten from the audiences which I’m forever grateful for thank you to EVERYONE who made it possible.”

Well, it seems Ananya’s social media post announcing her massive achievement has upset a significant section of the netizens. Taking to the discuss portal, Reddit, a user shared a screengrab of Ananya’s post and started trolling her. The user claimed how Ananya celebrates the success of a film, wherein she has contributed the least. Soon after, taking to the comment section, several other netizens started to criticise the actress for the same. While one user wrote, “My first century as a *flop actor who keeps getting roles despite not improving”, another user commented, “Would've been more if she wasn't there in the movie”.
Well, this hasn’t been the first time when Ananya was trolled over her films’ performances. A few days back, Ananya had re-shared on her social media handle, a screen grab of the positive reviews that the film, Dream Girl 2 received by notable film critic, Taran Adarsh on X (formerly known as Twitter). However, soon after, several Redditors started to point out how the diva had seemingly cropped out the particular negative reviews about her performance in the film, and only half-shared the reviews of the critic.

Ananya Panday, being one of the star kids in the block, is best buddies to several other star kids, including Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan. Speaking about the latter, in one of his interviews with News18 Showsha, Ananya had revealed whether she was jealous or competitive about Suhana making a debut on the silver screen soon. She had mentioned:
“I don’t feel insecure, I feel competitive. I have always been competitive. I think it’s good to have healthy competition because it keeps you motivated. It makes me want to work even harder. It is inspiring whenever new talent comes because you get to see what good work is out there, you get to learn from people."
