Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant are one of the highly-talked couples presently, as they are all set to get hitched in July 2024. Ahead of that, their families organised a grand pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar from March 1, 2024, to March 3, 2024. For the same, they are expected to host more than 1000 guests, including both Indian and international artists. Moreover, the Ambanis have made larger-than-life arrangements for the three-day-long event at the sprawling Reliance Greens Complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Ahead of that, in a conversation with India Today’s News Director, Rahul Kanwal on an episode of Jab We Met, Anant Ambani opened up about certain unknown anecdotes about his relationship with Radhika Merchant. Anant mentioned that he initially never thought of getting married as he was devoted towards his love for animals. However, when he met industrialist, Viren Merchant's daughter, Radhika, he realised that she too have same values as him. Calling her the 'person of his dreams', Anant shared:
“I am lucky (to have her) for sure. She is the person of my dreams. Since childhood, I had thought that I would never get married because I was always devoted to taking care of animals. But when I met Radhika, I saw her sharing the same values as me. She has this sense of giving and nurturing towards animals.”

Further, Anant opened up about his battle with his severe health issues. For the unversed, Nita once, in an interview, had explained that Anant suffers from asthma, which makes him obese. Further, the same problem became a hindrance in Anant's weight-loss journey. Talking about the same, Anant revealed that his family has always been his huge support system. But his ladylove, Radhika's support, meant a lot for him. He added how Radhika became his strength and stated:
“Beyond that, Radhika has stood like a strong pillar of support during my difficult times, as I battled with health issues. Even my parents never made me feel like I was ill. Even when doctors gave up on certain things, they never did. Additionally, Radhika gave me strength. They always told me to not give up and keep fighting, especially for someone who has battled health issues since childhood. There are many people in more pain than me, hence I am grateful to God for everything. I have never paid attention to anything anyone says. It’s their job to gossip but for me, my family and their support is of the utmost importance.”
Afterwards, in another segment of the interview, Anant was asked about his decision to choose the town, Jamnagar in Gujarat as his pre-wedding destination. To this, Mukesh Ambani's younger son mentioned that he was inspired by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's 'Wed in India' campaign, where he urged kids from affluent families to get married within the country. Thus, showing a dedication towards his hometown, Jamnagar, where he grew up, Anant opted for this location. Moreover, he also explained how Radhika too, loves his birthplace more than he does, and expressed:
"She is more happy in Jamnagar than anywhere else. She loves it here, even more than I do."

Anant's love for Jamnagar was also clearly evident when he launched a rescue and rehabilitation centre for animals, Vantara, over there. Thus, while discussing his and Radhika's private times with one another, he described what a 'perfect date' for them looks like. He mentioned that for the same they used to visit Jamnagar and spend time amidst nature and animals. He revealed:
"A date in Jamnagar would be walking in the forest, feeding my elephants. Or going in a small paddle boat with the elephants in the lake. Everything would be nature-oriented only."
