In an interview with the IANS, Amitabh Bachchan had said that even though he has been in public life from the day he was born, he has no legacy of his own to leave behind. He had stated, "It is coming on to 50 years in public life... that is as far as I am personally concerned, but I have been in public life from the day I was born. I was always the son of Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan, eminent poet, litterateur, having public presence far greater than mine. I have no legacy. My father's legacy is what I am interested in, and I shall try always to further it."

Amitabh Bachchan also hopes to pass on his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan's wisdom to his children and grandchildren. Big B was quoted as saying, "Memories with my father and time spent with him are personal. But yes, lessons learnt from him would certainly be passed on to Abhishek. These are family oriented. Each family has their own conduct and behaviour, and they are executed in a manner where the next generation continues the legacy of the past. One prays and hopes that this temperament continues for posterity too."

On March 24, 2019, Shweta Bachchan Nanda had walked the ramp for designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and was one of the showstoppers along with Karan Johar and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. And guess who was there to cheer for Shweta as she elegantly graced the ramp? It was none other than her superstar parents, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan! Amitabh ji and Jaya ji were sitting in the first row as they had cheered for their daughter. Big B had even turned into paparazzi and was all smiles as he clicked Shweta while she walked the ramp. Here’s the video of the same:

Posting his favourite moment from the night, wherein his daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda could be seen twirling on-stage, Amitabh Bachchan had written, "To the best... always... tonight elegance grace and dignity." On Twitter, Big B had written, “Daughter's are THE best..! elegance grace and dignity! (heart emojis) you Shweta” followed by a beautiful note for her in Hindi, which could be translated as, “Abhi kal tak hi to hum tumhe chalna sikha rahe the, aur aaj yeh.. itni jaldi samay kaise nikal gaya, bas pata hi nahi chala.” Here’s the screenshot of the same:

Amitabh Bachchan’s emotions had overflowed on his official blog, as he watched Shweta Bachchan Nanda walk the ramp. Big B had articulated the feeling of being a proud father in the form of an Instagram post. The same could be read as "When emotions ride above all else... when pride overwhelms... when what you brought into this world excels above all else... when there is wonder and astonishment on the passage of time... when there is none other before but this, or after... then... it is the love of the father... and that moment when you recollect what your parents thought and felt when they did see you in such... and not just them, but what you yourself thought of that moment when the pride you built, is demonstrated by your actions... I was fortunate, to have had many... and they were the greatest moments of fulfilment ever..."
