Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic film, Silsila holds a special place in the hearts of his fans even today. While partially the reason for it was that the film featured the real-life love triangle between Amitabh, Rekha and Jaya Bachchan, it is also fondly remembered because of its exotic shooting locations in Holland and Netherlands. However, Amitabh’s visit to the Netherlands also turned out to be a family vacation for his wife and kids, whose presence had an interesting anecdote in the actor’s life.
Amitabh Bachchan is known for being an active social media user, where he often shares some unheard and lesser-known episodes of his life. For instance, he once reminisced about his family vacation in Keukenhof in Netherlands, where the family had enjoyed a work-trip cum vacation during Amitabh and Jaya’s shooting for the film, Silsila. Sharing some memorable anecdotes from the same, Big B had dropped stunning pictures from the grand tulip gardens and revealed how his son, Abhishek almost got lost during the vacation. In his words:
“We are all living in ‘hortus conclusus’ .. wandering about within ourselves .. in our ‘enclosed garden’ .. BUT .. Keukenhof , the most beautiful open garden is different .. such fond memories of Jaya Abhishek and Shweta in these heavenly spaces .. and little Abhishek falling into one bunch , into one kyari and almost getting lost... those were the days!!”

Amitabh Bachchan is a complete family man when it comes to his personal life and in fact, his son, Abhishek too has inherited such genes in maintaining such a bond with the family of his own. Sadly, as compared to the illustrious career of his father, Abhishek has not been able to make such an impactful mark, nevertheless he still strives as one of the best actors of his generation. Well, Amitabh Bachchan despite everything has always been very supportive of his son, and makes it a point to reflect the same out in the world. For instance, taking to his Twitter handle, Amitabh once quoted his own father and poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and called Abhishek his true heir or uttaradhikari. He said:
“Mere bete, bete hone se tum mere uttradhikari nahi hoge. Jo mere uttradhikari honge, wo mere bete honge. --Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Abhishek, tum mere uttradhikari hoge, bus keh diya to keh diya."
Unlike most other celebrities and their sons, Amitabh Bachchan shares a bond with his son, Abhishek Bachchan like no other. Proof of the same was found in an old interview where Abhishek revealed the nickname his father gave to him right in his childhood, and as reciprocating, he too gave him a similar nature of a nickname. Spilling beans on it, he mentioned:
“When I was little, my father used to call me out saying ‘Tiger’ then after a few years I thought even I should call him something as an answer. One day when he came back home from shooting, he asked me ‘How are you tiger? I replied,’ I am fine Panther. How are you?’ and I was 4-5 years old then. Since then it became like a fun thing, he used to call me Tiger, I used to call him Panther. If there was an animal that we wanted to choose, I was sure that it was Panther because that is how I used to call my father.”

Apart from being father and son as well as the best buddies, Amitabh Bachchan and his son, Abhishek Bachchan are each other’s biggest cheerleaders. Proof of the same was found during Abhishek’s candid conversations in the controversial celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan. The Dasvi actor revealed how he considers himself his dad, Amitabh Bachchan’s greatest fans. In his words:
“It's very difficult. I have never said this, but it is. Because apart from being a co-star, and a son, I'm also his biggest fan. And I genuinely say that. From the bottom of my heart, I believe he is the greatest actor on earth."
