Global icon, Priyanka Chopra Jonas rules the glamour industry with her standout acting roles and eye-catching fashion choices. The actress certainly knows how to steal the show with her wit and self-assured demeanour. However, the desi girl got married in 2018 to popular Hollywood singer, Nick Jonas in a lavish wedding in Udaipur. The duo is presently enjoying their parenthood journey with their baby girl, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, whom PeeCee welcomed through surrogacy.
However, before getting married, PeeCee had several relationships. One of the most talked about relationships of Priyanka Chopra was with Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor. As per the reports, the duo came close to each other during the shoot of their film, Kaminey. However, there was no official confirmation about the same. It was in 2011 when Priyanka Chopra was in the limelight due to the IT raid at her house. But what turned all the heads during that time was the headlines that declared it was Shahid Kapoor who opened the doors wearing a towel. However, an old video is presently doing rounds on the social media where PeeCee confirmed the news.

Soon after Priyanka Chopra revealed that she was being pushed into the corner in Bollywood, a lot of her old interviews are constantly getting viral. One of the old interviews is currently doing rounds where Priyanka talked about the incident. In this old interview with, Rajat Sharma, Priyanka was asked whether it was really Shahid Kapoor, who opened the doors. To answer this question, Priyanka said that it was actually Shahid Kapoor who opened the door back then. She also stated that it was quite obvious during that time for Shahid to be present at her home as he used to reside only 3 minutes away from her home and was one of her closest friends during that time. She said:
"Yes, Shahid was there at my apartment when it (the income tax raids) happened. He lives just three minutes away from my home and it was but natural for me to give him a call when all that was happening. My mother was also supposed to be there but she couldn’t make it. So I gave him a call and he rushed to my apartment just as he was (reportedly in shorts)."
However, although PeeCee confirmed that it was actually Shahid Kapoor, she took a sly dig at the media. She asked the media if they accompanied the IT people to her home in order to report that Shahid unlocked the door while wearing a towel. The actress also called such reports to be cheap and harmful. Priyanka Chopra clarified that during that time, she was residing with her parents, so such an incident could be highly damaging for someone.

Although Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra's relationship was one of the tight-lipped topics, it was on the 13th episode of Koffee With Karan season 6, when Shahid Kapoor came along with his younger half-sibling, Ishaan Khatter and opened up about PeeCee. On the set, when Karan asked Shahid if he really dated Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, and Sonakshi Sinha, Shahid did not deny it and even said that there should be a normal vibe between the exes and no awkwardness if everyone is happy and settled. Shahid said:
"I think there should be eventually. If you are happy and if you are settled then there’s no reason to be uncomfortable with other people. If you are uncomfortable with something and holding on to something, I think those are the times that we should probably be awkward because there’s something within you that’s not settled. But if you’re happy with where you are, you always wish everybody happiness. I wish them all the happiness."
Again during the rapid-fire round when Karan asked which relationship memories he would like to delete, Priyanka or Kareena. Shahid answered neither as he believes that the experiences had made him what he is today. To answer Karan's questions about who is the more talented actor between Priyanka and Kareena, Shahid answered:
"I think the more talented actor is Kareena. I think the more hardworking and committed actor is Priyanka."
In an interview, while talking about Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor stated that he is very happy about her achievements. He also said that Priyanka always had the potential to be an international star. Congratulating Priyanka on her marriage to Nick, Shahid said:
"Many, many congratulations to Priyanka and Nick. Marriage is a beautiful thing, I can say that from my experience and I wish her all the best."
