Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are undoubtedly one of the most-loved evergreen couples in the Hindi film industry. The duo’s long-lasting companionship and undying love for one another is truly inspirational. For the unversed, the duo had crossed paths for the first time in the year 1970, when Amitabh visited the Pune Film Institute along with a group of actors. Jaya, who was a student there, had instantly caught his attention. Thereafter, over frequent film shoots and meetings, their love story blossomed and they finally tied the knot on June 3, 1973.

Proof of the same was found when the duo had valued their commitment to work so much that they had resumed shooting right a day after returning from their honeymoon in London. Spilling beans on the same, Amitabh, in one of his previous tweets had revealed that the climax scene of the film, Abhimaan was shot right the next day after their return from honeymoon. In his words:
“The last shot of the film of Jaya and me coming out of the theatre after singing the climax song, and the crowds mobbing and applauding us, was done the day after we returned from our honeymoon in London.”

The picture-perfect love story of Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan got a little distorted when Rekha entered into the picture and made a love triangle out of it. Since Amitabh was a married man, his relationship with Rekha was nearly a hushed affair. However, through many gossip-mongers, this news had made its way to Jaya’s ears. However, rather than leaving her husband, she managed to stay grounded.
But, there was once a time when she was absolutely against working with Rekha in Yash Chopra’s film, Silsila. During her stint in her granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast show, What The Hell Navya, Jaya Bachchan once recalled a rather unknown anecdote about her husband, Amitabh Bachchan. She called him grumpy and revealed that he acts most weirdly whenever her best friends come and pay a visit. In her words:
“Your nana is like, he is the grumpiest. He will say 'I have to go up, excuse me ladies. If you don't mind' and something something. Actually they are quite happy that he is not there."
