Among the gorgeous celebrities turning heads at the prestigious event, veteran star, John Travolta has generated the most buzz on May 15, 2026. The 72-year-old received a surprise honorary Palme d'Or lifetime achievement award. However, what made headlines was his dramatic new, youthful look. The chatter around him has brought his late wife, Kelly Preston, into focus.

John Travolta gave a special tribute to his late wife with a song

John Travolta shared a heartfelt tribute to his late wife, Kelly Preston, just months before his buzzworthy Cannes 2026 appearance. He honoured Kelly by sharing a romantic song he recorded for her on what would have been her 62nd birthday. On October 14, 2025, the actor and singer posted a deeply moving post on his official Instagram account. It featured a photo of Kelly, smiling warmly while holding beautiful white flowers. In the background of the image, an audio recording of John singing the classic ballad, Come Rain or Come Shine played.

John stated that he recorded the song just for his better half; however, he decided to make it public on the special occasion of her birthday. It was his way of showing his love for her. Notably, John did not get remarried after losing his ladylove to breast cancer in 2020. Even years after her passing, he still misses her as much and speaks warmly about her during his interviews. His sweet birthday tribute for her could be read as:

"I recorded this song for Kelly and I want to share it with you all on her birthday. Happy birthday Kelly, we love you. -John, Ella and Ben."

They met in 1987 during a screen test for the 1989 comedy film, The Experts. At that time, Kelly was married to actor, Kevin Gage.
