It seems that the most glamorous wedding of this year is just around the corner. We’re talking about Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's son, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding which would reportedly be in December 2018. But before that, Akash and Shloka’s formal engagement would take place on June 30, 2018. And guess what! Their formal engagement invite is now out. Akash and Shloka’s engagement card is one of its kind and would you believe us when we say that the invitation card is actually a 3D invitation? Yes, Ambanis are well known to do everything in style and thee invitation style of their son's engagement is the most unique you would ever come across in any celeb engagement.
The invitation is not just a card, it’s a whole package. Inside a golden and white box, lies the invitation card, but the most surprising and beautiful element inside the box is a small Ganesha temple. Yes, you read that correct! As you open the box, you would come across the card, and below it are actually a pair of doors which you need to open, and inside lies a miniature form of a temple. It must be noted here that this is the same invitation card which Nita Ambani offered to Lord Ganesha at the famous Siddhivinayak temple on Wednesday. Following the family tradition of starting everything with the blessings of Ganesha, Nita Ambani along with her son, Anant Ambani visited the Siddhivinayak and delivered the first invitation to the God himself. A few days ago, a ‘Save The Date’ invite for Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s engagement was released which went viral on social media. On their formal engagement card, incantations bearing their own names are etched. It reads as, “You are the light in our Akash, You illuminate our every Shloka”.
For the uninitiated ones, it must be mentioned here that Akash Ambani proposed to Shloka Mehta on March 24, 2018, in Goa over a family gathering. Two days later, they had a star-studded pre-engagement bash at their famous residence, Anitila. Whos’ who of Mumbai including Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, John Abraham, Rajkumar Hirani, Zaheer Khan, Sagarika Ghatge, Harbhajan Singh, Kiran Rao and many others attended the party.
For those who are new to this story, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta are childhood friends. They have had their schooling together at the famous Dhirubhai Ambani International School. Shloka is the daughter of Russell Mehta, a diamantaire who owns a diamond company by the name of, Rosy Blue. Shloka herself is also one of the members of the Directors of Board at the Rosy Blue Foundation since 2014 and is also the co-founder of ConnectFor, her company which works in collaboration with various NGOs. After their star-studded pre-engagement bash, Shloka and Akash spoke reverently and lovingly of each other. Akash was quoted as saying, “I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married, she is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person”.
The bahu-to-be of the Ambanis said, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together. We are lucky to have a love that began with being best friends and luckier still to have such supportive families”.
In another interview, Nita Ambani spoke of her hone wali bahu, “I have known Shloka since she was four and we are all delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts”. In fact, a source close to the Ambanis revealed to a media channel, “Shloka is a very charming girl, extremely cultured and it’s difficult to say which of the two families is lucky with this upcoming marriage”.
Well, with both the ‘Save The Date’ and the formal invitation out now, we can’t wait for Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s engagement to take place on June 30, 2018.
