The couple had taken the plunge after being in a relationship with one another for almost a year.

A few years back, Kajol and Ajay Devgn appeared on the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 16 and shared a lot of secrets about their happy married life. While the couple shared tips and tricks with the viewers for having a happily ever after, they also busted a lot of myths about marriage, as it was a fun-filled episode. However, one segment of the show remained in the hearts of everyone, in which Kajol asked her darling husband whether he had ever given false compliments about the food cooked by her. Answering this, Ajay had given a savage answer that left the show's host, Salman Khan, in splits. The actor had said:
"Nahi (To Kajol’s question), kabhi nahin, uski leye aapko khana banana padega. Kabhi pani garam kiya hain. Itna bhi ni pata ki pyaaz kilo ke daam bikta hain ki litre se."
Once in an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, the dapper actor, Ajay Devgn had talked about his marriage with Kajol and had opened up about their amazing chemistry. When the doting husband was asked why he had decided to marry Kajol, Ajay had answered that when they had met first for the first time, they gelled quite well. Adding that both he and she had gone with the flow, Ajay had shared:
"I really don't know..we met, we got along very well. We started seeing each other without even proposing and then it was taken for granted that we will get married…Our thoughts are similar, our models seem to gel together. So, it just went in a flow."

Going further in the interview, Ajay Devgn had also addressed the fights and arguments in his marriage and had explained how it is quite normal to have ups and downs in a marriage. The actor had admitted that every marriage and every couple in this world has disagreements. However, talking about how he and his wife, Kajol resolved their conflicts and managed disagreements, Ajay had revealed the way he used to solve their quarrels. In his words:
"But you have to manage those disagreements…Two minds can't be alike but then we discuss and that how it works."
