And this time again, Abhishek and Aishwarya’s 6-year-old-daughter, Aaradhya became the target of trolls. On September 9, 2018, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was awarded the prestigious Meryl Streep Award for Excellence at the first edition of Women In Film and Television (WIFT) India. Her hubby, Abhishek Bachchan couldn’t control his happiness and the proud husband shared a photo of their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan hugging Aishwarya as she receives the award. He tweeted, “And the Mrs. is awarded the Meryl Streep award for excellence at WIFT. The little one gives her a congratulatory hug, and I look on (to the photo) a very proud husband!”
Even Aishwarya posted her picture with Aaradhya holding her award, later on her Instagram handle, and wrote, “You my Aaradhya complete me Divine Blissful Eternal LOVE”. On September 14, 2018, Aishwarya came back to Mumbai with daughter, Aaradhya and mother, Brinda Rai. But instead of glorifying her achievement of making India proud with such an honour, people subjected her to trolls as soon as her airport pictures and videos went viral on the internet.
Aishwarya can be seen walking hand-in-hand with Aaradhya, as this mother-daughter duo is usually spotted, while the paparazzi surrounded them from everywhere. People mercilessly trolled her for being an overprotective mother and some even said that she is snatching away her little one’s confidence.
Some of the ruthless comments could be read as, “The overprotective mother”, “Why she mothers Aradhya so much, she will@make her so crippled”, “@viralbhayani: I am sure even u want to tell this to aishwarya that she shud let her kid be! Nobody is going to eat her baby!”, “Taimur has more confidence than aradhya”, “Doesn’t she go to a school or something she is always spotted with her mum anywhere and everywhere”, “She seems to be an over protective mother and that’s not healthy in the long run”, “I dont think that she is a normal child at all...Taimur has such confidence in this age only and here is she behaving like”. Abhishek Bachchan, who impressed everyone with his performance as Robbie in Manmarziyaan alongside Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, was also spotted at the airport to receive his mother-in-law, wife and daughter.
This is not the first time that Abhishek and Aishwarya were targeted in the context of their daughter. Earlier this year, Former Miss World, Aishwarya went to Mangalore to attend her cousin, Pranjwal’s wedding, who is the son of Aishwarya’s uncle Uday Kumar Shetty, and Aaradhya accompanied her.
But what made a Twitterati curious is how Aaradhya accompanies her mom everywhere and not go to school. The Twitter user tweeted to Abhishek Bachchan, "@juniorbachchan, is ur child not going to school? I do wonder What school gives permission to take a out a kid when u like to go a trip with mom. Or are u guys going for beauty without brains. Always hand in hand with a arrogant mom. Not having a normal childhood." To which Junior Bachchan replied, "Ma'am, as far as I know… Most schools are shut for the week-end. She goes to school on the weekdays.
