Aamir Khan is enjoying the most special time in his personal life at the moment, as his baby girl, Ira Khan has all grown up and is set to get married to Nupur Shikhare in a traditional ceremony on January 8, 2024. While the lovebirds have already rung in their registered marriage a few days back, they will take the pheras according to Marathi rituals in the city of lakes. And now, we stumbled upon a priceless gesture that Ira’s doting daddy has formalised for her big fat wedding.
Ahead of Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare’s traditional wedding ceremony in Udaipur, a report by the Mid-Day revealed a very special request Aamir Khan has made to all the women in the house. The talented actor ensured that all the ladies get dressed in traditional Nauvari sarees for the clubbed mehendi and haldi festivities, that will be held following Marathi rituals, in honour of the groom’s family. Indeed, such an adorable gesture speaks volumes about the kind of love Aamir has for his daughter and son-in-law, thereby ensuring they have the most memorable time of their lives.

Back on January 5, 2024, the internet was filled with tons of glimpses of the newlyweds, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare, as they arrived at the Udaipur airport for their big fat Maharashtrian wedding. The duo posed with Ira’s mom, Reena Dutta, and the trio flashed their brightest smiles for the paparazzi. While Ira wore an orange bralette teamed with an olive-green jacket and matching pants, Nupur, on the other hand, wore a navy-blue t-shirt with matching pants and jacket. Reena, on the other hand, dressed up in a black and grey printed top with trousers and a coral jacket.
Nupur Shikhare, who is a fitness coach by profession, left everyone’s jaws dropped with his hatke entry at the venue for his registered wedding. Ditching band, baaja and baraat, he jogged 8km to reach the hotel, Taj Lands End, wearing a black vest and white shorts. While he received a massive flak from internet users for his weird choice of attire on his special day, it was later, during their ceremony, when Ira cutely took the mic on stage and reacted to her groom’s look. She stated:
“He's going to go shower, good bye."

According to a previous report by The Free Press Journal, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare’s traditional Marathi wedding will be held in the city of lakes, Udaipur, post their registered wedding in Mumbai. Speaking about the specific venue of the shaadi, the duo have booked the heritage property, Taj Aravali Resort, from January 8 to January 10, 2024. A total of 176 rooms have been reserved for the Khan and Shikhare family, and a total of 250 guests are invited for the celebration.
