Idaho Tribune and The Post Millennial have also named Salinas as the man who saved lives during the In-N-Out shooting.
The Twin Falls civilians had gone out for a normal weekend meal on Saturday, August 1, 2026, when an incident changed their lives forever. The drive-through at In-N-Out turned into a crime scene following the tragic passing of three people. However, amid the tragedy, a name has garnered immense attention. The man is referred to as the bystander who confronted Chad Williams and saved many lives.
While the Twin Falls police have not officially identified Jordan Salinas as the armed bystander, social media users are sure he is the man; fans have compared the video to his profile, drawing similarities between him and the bystander who confronted Chad Williams. In a conversation with the Associated Press, witness Lane Koehn also reflected on what happened and revealed he saw a person with a pistol begin firing at the rifle-armed gunman after the suspect emerged from the drive-thru.
The witness further shared that the man stayed at the scene to help a wounded In-N-Out employee until paramedics arrived. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said the suspect was confronted by an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper and a civilian, who returned fire. Their actions helped bring the attack to an end. He said:
"We believe their actions helped drive the suspect away from the scene, preventing further casualties. We want to take a moment and commend the actions of the off-duty officer and the citizen, and their heroic action to stop this incident."
Jordan Salinas took to his Facebook account and shared a post on the night of August 2, 2026 (ET). He reflected on what happened and penned a heartfelt post thanking everyone for their kind words. He assured everyone that he will soon share what happened at the In-N-Out. However, for now, his thoughts remain with the victims of the shooting. He said:
"The last 24 hours have been overwhelming. I want to sincerely thank my family, friends, and everyone who has reached out with messages, prayers, and support. I haven't been able to respond to everyone yet, but please know I've seen your messages, and they mean more to me than I can put into words. In the coming days, I'll share a more complete account of what happened, to the best of my recollection, when I'm able. For now, my heart remains with the victims, their families, and everyone affected by yesterday's tragedy."
Netizens were certain that the man is Jordan Salinas. They compared his physique and clothing to that of the bystander, pointing out it was the same man. What further made social media users certain was a post Jordan made last year in 2024 on his Facebook account. The post showed Jordan in the same pose as that of the bystander, with the caption:
"Sundown desert drill with the suppressed FN Five-seveN USG. Firing Vanguard 55gn. FMJ 5.7x28mm subsonic ammunition. Tactical Solutions Axiom suppressor. Shoulder cross draw, manual safety, to triple tap - 1.3 seconds. 1 Bravo, 2 Charlies on silhouette at 20yds on this pass. Decent, but I'm aiming for a little more A-zone action. Train like your life depends on it. Because God forbid, one day it might. Stay free, stay safe, and stay frost"
