Who is The Skin Doctor, who was arrested for speaking about Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur in his social media posts?
Influencer, Neelam Singh, who is also known as The Skin Doctor, was arrested by the Delhi Police. This is because he had reportedly posted on Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, the late businessman Sunjay Kapur. It was on May 14, 2026, that social media influencer The Skin Doctor, a.k.a. Dr Neelam Singh, was granted bail. A case was registered against him by Sunjay's widow, Priya Kapur, regarding his tweets.
Influencer Neelam Singh's case with The Skin Doctor went viral quickly. However, what exactly led to his arrest, and who is he? For the unversed, a report by Bar & Bench revealed that The Skin Doctor was arrested as he raised questions surrounding Sunjay's demise in his posts. He had also raised questions about Sunjay's estate and inheritance matters.
Industrialist, Sunjay's wife, Priya had revealed that the claims made by The Skin Doctor were false and also fabricated. Dr Neelam Singh is a dermatologist who is very famous on social media, and his clips are way beyond medical content. The Skin Doctor. His Instagram bio reads, "A socio-politically aware dermatologist." He is known to share his opinions on politics and current affairs.
The YouTube channel of The Skin Doctor defines him as, "A dermatologist speaking on social issues” while his bio on X reads, "I'm not important; what I say is." The Skin Doctor's posts are known to spark a lot of heated discussions and criticism. Reports revealed that a complaint was filed against Singh at Delhi's Vasant Kunj Police station, that too on behalf of the Kapur family.
The Skin Doctor reportedly was in custody for two days. After getting bail, he shared his side of the story on X and called his experience something difficult. He started his long tweet by saying that yesterday (May 13, 2026) was a long day. He was called for questioning in connection with a case he believed had no merit, and he attended to present his version. However, The Skin Doctor revealed that the cops arrested him at 5.30 p.m. and said:
"I was granted bail at 10 PM, and the Hon’ble Duty Judge clearly stated that he saw no offence in the case. He also said that he saw no mens rea and failed to understand why I had even been arrested. Grateful to @RaviSharmaTalks and @sidcool2302. The wonderful lawyers who helped me through this. Thankful to the many people, both online and offline, who supported me. I’m truly grateful."
The Skin Doctor, in his tweet, further shared that many dislike him and use such opportunities to strike harder when he is down. However, that is a fair game as he thinks everyone has their day. He revealed that he can take those blows and come back. At times like these, one realises the importance of ideological support. The people who stood by him were not his friends or family. The Skin Doctor revealed:
"The people who stood by me at the most crucial juncture were neither close friends nor relatives, but those with whom I am bound by ideology. And it delivered for me when it mattered most. This incident has added many new layers of perspective, most importantly the ones we usually miss in the melee of day-to-day social media discourse."
The Skin Doctor received support from his fans as a user wrote, "Being arrested for nothing and then turning it into a victory speech about ideology like it’s a sports team is crazy. The judge said there was no case, so what exactly are you fighting here, vibes? It now feels less like justice and more like building a fanbase off a bad day. Like your work, bro. Your issue identification and articulation are good. Let’s always be on the side of truth, uphold uncompromising ethics and values, and keep working for the betterment. Another one penned:

May I please request you not to let this go, Doc? Your arrest clearly violates the Supreme Court Judgment in Arnesh Kumar. Cops who arrested you can be tried for contempt in this case. Please, please pursue. Sheer abuse of power, this is ofc we know by who!"
It is worth mentioning that The Skin Doctor had deleted the posts, and hence, they could not be verified independently. Karima's ex-husband, Sunjay, who was the chairman of auto components company Sona Comstar, died in June 2025. However, the authenticity of the screenshots and deleted posts could not be independently verified. According to reports, Sunjay Kapur, the chairman of auto components company Sona Comstar and former husband of actor Karisma Kapoor, died in London in June, 2025, while reportedly playing polo. Medical findings later confirmed that his death was natural and caused by cardiac-related issues.
