A while ago, former cricketer, Vinod Kambli's wife, Andrea came forward and slammed all the false reports around his health.
Former Indian cricketer, Vinod Kambli is reportedly going through a tough phase since nearly a year. For the unversed, he has a clot in his brain. Recently, one of his friends, Marcus told Hindustan Times that even though Vinod is now able to walk with the help of a stick, he is still at a high risk of brain stroke. However, Vinod’s wife, Andrea Hewitt has now come forward and slammed all the rumours around his health.
Recently, Vinod Kambli’s wife, Andrea had a conversation with journalist, Vickey Lalwani and slammed all the false rumours around the former cricketer’s health. She explained that she is completely shocked seeing the reports and stated that her husband is doing fine. A few moments ago, Vickey Lalwani shared the same on his Instagram handle. According to the same, Andrea Hewitt was quoted as saying:
"By God’s grace, Vinod is fine. I don’t know who is spreading false information about his health."
A few hours ago, Vinod Kambli’s friend named Marcus Couto had a candid conversation with Hindustan Times Digital, during which he revealed that the former cricketer has a clot in his brain, which cannot be removed now, leading to risk of brain stroke. Further, he also stated that he has created a whatsapp group, which includes multiple cricketers, who donate money for Vinod’s treatment. Marcus shared:
"I have formed a WhatsApp group including his friends – mostly cricketers – and without taking names, they contribute a lot financially. Vinod has a clot in his brain, which cannot be removed because he did not take precautions early. And the doctor has suggested that he could have a brain stroke. Because of his willpower, he is conjuring whatever he can."
It is worth mentioning that Marcus had revealed that even though Vinod Kambli is at risk of brain stroke, his condition has improved from the past. In the last few months, Vinod had also returned back to work. Six months ago, he appeared in an advertisement for an ice cream brand. On the other hand, he also mentioned that earlier Vinod used to face difficulty in walking; however, now he is able to walk with the help of a stick, which was gifted to him by a friend. Reportedly, Vinod is getting help from cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev.
If reports are to be believed, Vinod Kambli's wife, Andrea Hewitt is a former model; however, she stayed away from the limelight. Talking about their relationship, the duo met around 2000, and soon started dating. After a few years, the couple tied the knot in 2006. Vinod and Andrea stayed together for nearly two decades, and they share two children- son, Jesus Christiano Kambli and daughter, Johanna. It is worth noting that Vinod and Andrea did not have a smooth marriage.
Since Vinod was an alcoholic, it led to several arguments at home. Things escalated in 2023, when Andrea filed a complaint against him claiming domestic violence. However, despite filing for divorce, Andrea took it back due to Vinod's health and helpless condition. For those who do not know, Vinod Kambli was previously married to a receptionist named Noella. In 2025, Andrea opened up about her divorce with Vinod during a conversation with Suryanshi Pandey and shared:
"I once thought about it (separating). But I realised that he would be helpless if I leave him. He is like a child, and that hurts me. It makes me feel worried. I would not even leave a friend, and he is obviously more than that. I remember there were moments when I would just walk away. But then I would be worried: Has he eaten or not? Is he on the bed properly? Is he okay? Then I had to check on him, and I would understand that he needed me."
