New footage recorded by a witness shows Gabriela falling from the carnival ride
New footage has surfaced on the internet, which shows Gabriela's scary fall from the ride. It was shot by another person who was on the ride. The 18-year-old was sitting on the extreme right of the ride as the ride spun at high speed; a beep sound was heard, and Gabriela's safety gear lock opened on its own. Her legs were above her head before she fell to the ground.

Gabriela sustained serious injuries after the horrific fall. She was rushed to the hospital, but she passed away the following day. Gabriela's passing in the horrific incident yet again proves life is fragile, and we have no control over the next moment. She attended the carnival, hoping to have the best time of her life, but it turned out to be her last.
People are sharing their tributes to the 18-year-old. One user on Instagram wrote, "That's why I don't do carnival rides. Even theme parks have issues, but carnival/fair rides seem to have even more." A second penned, "I don't let my kids go on pendulum rides. Never! I hate those kinds of rides. May she rest in peace. So sad." A third one pointed out, "Or...... her weight? So many things that could have been."
Gabriela was given immediate treatment before she was rushed to a nearby hospital. She died in the early hours of the next day after she suffered catastrophic injuries from the fall. After the incident, municipal authorities shut down the ride and sealed the area for security and safety checks of every ride in the carnival.

Formal investigation into the matter has been ongoing to determine how the teenager came free from her restraints and who was to be blamed for the incident. They are also investigating if the ride met operating standards. Los Cabos mayor Christian Agundez Gomez talked about the carnival. He said:
"These festivals remind us who we are, where we come from, and what we are capable of when we are united. Today, with the same spirit with which we come together to celebrate, we must come together to accompany Gabriela’s family. It could have been any of us. You are not alone."
The town hall also confirmed it will cooperate with investigators and support the victim's relatives. Talking about Gabriela, she recently completed high school in Cabo San Lucas, where she was crowned as Princess of Cobach. The school also penned a tribute and prayed that her smile remain alive in their memory, "May your smile remain alive in our memory and your memory always be a light that accompanies us.” The Council wrote:
"It is with deep sorrow that we report that the young woman who was injured in the incident that occurred in the amusement park area of the Cabo San Lucas Traditional Festivals was immediately transferred to receive medical attention and lost her life despite the efforts of the health personnel."
