As Rob stepped back into the limelight, his past controversies, including him having cheated on his ex-girlfriend, Adrienne Bailon have been revisited. The cheating row later escalated into a public spat between her and Rob's sister, Kim Kardashian.

Rob Kardashian was unfaithful to his former ladylove, Adrienne Bailon, whom he dated in his early 20s. He admitted to cheating on her in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2010, adding that it was the reason for their split. Rob made the bombshell admission about a year after they ended their relationship in March 2009. As per reports at that time, Rob appeared to be remorseful; however, he didn't reveal whom he cheated with.
By then, Adrienne Bailon had already moved on with her new beau; however, her past with Rob remained in the news due to the infidelity row. The issue gained renewed attention in 2016 when Rob Kardashian told his then-fiancée and baby mama, Blac Chyna, that he struggles with jealousy due to an unfaithful former partner on Rob & Chyna. That led many to believe that he was talking about his famous ex, Adrienne Bailon.
But The Real co-host took to her show to set the record straight. Adrienne clarified that she wasn't the ex-girlfriend Rob was talking about, saying she had "absolutely never cheated" on him. She said that their relationship had run its course and they have come a long way since then. In her words:
"We've come such a long way. I think Rob is a great guy. Our relationship, what's in the past is in the past. He's moving on; he's about to be a father, which, congratulations to him and Chyna. But what I will say is that girl was certainly not me, just saying. It definitely was not me. I absolutely never cheated on Rob."
Adrienne Bailon stated that she related to Rob and understood how a person can be "hurt" and struggle with fidelity issues for a long time after being cheated on once. Sharing a similar experience, she said, "It affected me so much that I made it a conscious decision to not do that to the next person." Her co-host, Loni Love, jumped in to clarify, "You were cheated on. Rob cheated on her!"
Adrienne tried to brush off the topic, saying, "He was 21 years old at the time. We were super young at the time, you guys." Notably, the cheating row made headlines in 2014 as well after she called him disloyal and had a social media war with his sister, Kim Kardashian.

While talking about Rob Kardashian's infidelity with a Latina magazine, Adrienne also expressed regret over her association with the Kardashian family through him. She claimed it hurt her career, and Kim Kardashian took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam her. Kim mocked her, saying she was only in the news because her name was linked to a Kardashian. Kim's explosive tweet could be read as:
"Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career, yet the only reason she has this article is because she is talking about a Kardashian."
Adrienne Bailon hit back by releasing a statement on Instagram. She stated, "Fame and career are two different things. I've always had a career. I have been working hard since I was 15 years old. Being someone's 'girlfriend' was never what I wanted to be famous for. She added, "What makes you 'famous' isn't always what you want to be 'labeled' as, or known for. If anyone should understand that... It should be you."
