Vijayta Pandit revealed being proud of the fact that her real-life love story with Aadesh Shrivastava was better than her 'Love Story' movie
Vijayta Pandit has been an actress and the wife of the late music composer, Aadesh Shrivastava. The famous music composer died in 2015 after a long fight with cancer. It has been eleven years since Aadesh died, leaving behind his wife, Vijayta, son, Avitesh and Avinesh, who have been working very hard to make a name for themselves. Vijayta Pandit recently revealed that her real-life love story with Aadesh was way better than her debut movie, Love Story. It was a 1981 blockbuster movie by Rahul Rawail.
Vijayta Pandit sat down for an interview with the SCREEN and revealed that her real-life love story with Aadesh Shrivastava was better than what she showcased in her debut movie, Love Story. Vijayta Pandit revealed that she just met Aadesh, fell in love with him and got married. In her words:
"Meri real life ki love story jo Aadesh Shrivastava ke saath hain, I think woh love story meri original love story se bhi bahut achhi hain. There was a lot of love there. We both had a similar family background. We met, just fell in love, and got married. I was very happily married to him."
Vijayta Pandit further revealed that once, when she appeared as a guest on the singing reality show Indian Idol, she and Aadesh Shrivastava had met in the US while she was performing on the show. Vijayta revealed that she was in America with her family for a show when she fell in love. He fell in love, proposed to her, and that is how their real love story began. She remembered how Aadesh spoke to her parents, and their real love story kicked off.
Vijayta Pandit further mentioned that her love story with Aadesh actually became sad when he was diagnosed with cancer, and eventually the disease cost him his life. It was in 1990 when Vijayta and Aadesh got married and were blessed with Avitesh and Avinesh. Remembering Aadesh Shrivastava, Vijayata shared that his death still hurts her. In her words:
"But still, he is never far away from me. He is always with me. He was a great person, a very nice husband, and so talented, as you all know. She was a very good singer and composer. It’s very rare to find so many skills in one person. I was very lucky.”
Vijayta Pandit, before meeting Aadesh Shrivastava, fell in love with Kumar Gaurav, who was her first co-star. She had revealed that her dad, the veteran actor Rajesh Kumar, did not allow her to work in the industry. Vijayta and Kumar Gaurav became a hit after their debut movie, Love Story, and many producers wanted to sign the real-life pair following the movie's success. Vijayta Pandit also shared that if she and Kumar Gaurav had continued to work together, they would have succeeded. People wanted to see them after the success of Love Story. Vijayta Pandit, in an interview with Lehren Retro, had revealed:
"Rajendra ji got me removed from all the films. He is the main person who didn’t let me work with Bunty (Kumar Gaurav). All the producers would say they want to cast Bunty and me; it is a hit pair. But Rajendra ji would say, ‘Heroine se picture nahi banti hai. He would suggest other actresses like Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, and Rati Agnihotri instead."
