Tylor Chase's mother noted that her son needed medical care, not financial assistance. Her revelations broke Taylor's loved ones' hearts.
Former Nickelodeon child actor, Tylor Chase, has been in the news since a viral video showed him living homeless on the streets of Riverside, California. Tylor, best known for playing 'Martin Qwerly' on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide (2004–2007), is currently almost unrecognisable due to his dire situation. The passersby who notice him share his pics and videos on social media, with fans wondering what might have happened to him to end up on the streets. Notably, the former actor has been offered temporary shelter and other forms of help, which he declined. Tylor's mother has also spoken about his situation, saying he needs medical assistance.
Tylor Chase has been living unhoused on the streets of Riverside, California, for quite some time now. Videos from September to December 2025 have shown his current state, in which his untidy appearance makes it hard to believe he was once a cherished child artist. His role as 'Martin Qweny' in the Nickelodeon series, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide (2004–2007) was loved by his fans, and many were quick to recognise him on the streets of California. While there is no single event cited that might have led to Tylor's homelessness, several fans linked his personal and professional struggles to his current situation. Some reports also cite his sudden loss of popularity and struggle with substance abuse as a potential reason.
Tylor Chase's mother has publicly stated that he has been battling bipolar disorder for years. She emphasised that while he is "kind and pure-hearted," he frequently refuses professional medical treatment and has struggled with stability despite his family's repeated efforts. A viral video of Tylor Chase prompted a GoFundMe campaign by TikTok user, Citalli Wilson. She wanted to help him financially and raised over USD 1,200 on GoFundMe. At that time, the former Nickelodeon star's mother requested that the campaign be shut down, stating, "Tylor needs medical attention, not money."
Tylor's mother explained that he is unable to manage his medication or finances. She mentioned getting him numerous phones for keeping in touch, but he lost each of them within a couple of days. Tylor Chase's mother was grateful for Citalli Wilson's help, but did not want her to give him the collected money, as he would lose it as well. The TikToker then respected her wishes and took down the GoFundMe link. She also asked Tylor's mom to keep the collected amount, as it was the fans' love and blessings for the former actor. Citalli quoted Tylor's mother's words as:
"Tylor needs medical attention, not money. But he refuses it. I appreciate your effort. But money would not be a benefit to him. I have gotten him several phones, but he loses them within a day or two. He can't manage money for his meds by himself."
Recently, in December 2025, Shaun Weiss, the star of The Mighty Ducks, publicly offered to help Tylor Chase. Shaun collaborated with friends to secure a detox bed and a facility for Taylor's long-term treatment. Tylor's Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide colleague, Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Lindsey Shaw, expressed deep concern on their podcast and stated they would step in to support their "old friend." However, Tylor seems unwilling to accept any help as of yet. The Riverside Police Department also recently confirmed that he consistently declines their offers for temporary shelter, mental health services, and addiction treatment.
