Prabhas' pan-India horror-comedy, The Raja Saab, is currently streaming on Jio Hotstar on February 6, 2026, in multiple languages. The supernatural thriller, directed by Maruthi, stars an ensemble cast. While Prabhas is back on the big screen after almost two years, the film also features Sanjay Dutt as an antagonist. The Raja Saab plot

The Raja Saab stars Prabhas as ‘Raju’, searching for his roots, and suddenly the story shifts from a carefree romantic life to a thriller. While searching for his grandfather, he enters a haunted mansion and discovers his grandfather’s vengeful, supernatural entity. 'Raju' lives with his old grandmother, 'Ganga Devi', who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Her last wish is to be reunited with her husband, 'Kanakaraja'.

While reaching Hyderabad, in search of his grandfather, ‘Kanakaraja’, played by Sunjay Dutt, 'Raju' realises that ‘Kanakaraja’ was insulted in Devnagar, and to seek vengeance, he resorts to black magic. With the powers of black magic, ‘Kanakaraja’ cast a spell with hypnosis and controlled people’s minds. With this, he takes 'Ganga Devi' hostage and makes her believe that the loyal warrior of the kingdom is behind the theft of money and jewellery.

The Raja Saab ending explained

'Raju', known as 'Raja Saab', decides to end Kanakaraja’s hypnotism. Using his deception, 'Kanakaraja' calls 'Ganga Devi', pretending to be Raja Saab. To break the spell, he has to think beyond the hypnotist’s mind. While 'Raju' goes to extreme lengths to fight with his grandfather, the hypnosis continues to trick his mind. However, 'Raju' uses psychic resistance to break the curse and rescues his grandmother, 'Ganga Devi' and himself. The film ends with 'Raja Saab' performing prayers for Kanakaraja’s soul to attain salvation.

Is there a sequel to The Raja Saab?

The Raja Saab stars Prabhas in a pivotal role along with Sanjay Dutt, Zarina Wahab, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar. The makers confirmed its sequel, titled Rajasaab Circus 1935, before the end credits. If the reports are to be believed, the movie, which has a project cost of Rs. 400 crores, had a whopping Rs. 100 crore budget for Prabhas.

The Raja Saab faces criticism after its OTT release

After The Raja Saab started streaming on OTT, many viewers, including Prabhas fans, called out the makers for several reasons. They questioned the storyline, the VFX, and many other aspects of the film. Many shared screenshots and videos of scenes they felt were poorly executed. Director Maruthi is facing the brunt of criticism for what audiences are calling weak writing and underwhelming execution.
