Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleSydney Towle died at the age of 26 after a tough fight against rare cancer. She was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, which is a rare bile duct cancer, at the age of 23. Despite going through a tough phase, Sydney had always kept her hopes high; in fact, when doctors gave up on her cancer treatment, the influencer showed her courage by walking on the ramp.
In May 2026, Sydney suffered the biggest blow after her oncologist gave a harrowing update about her cancer treatment. She revealed in a TikTok video dated May 19, 2026, that her doctor said he was no longer willing to treat her cholangiocarcinoma, a rare bile duct cancer. The doctor told her to transition to end-of-life care, hospice, despite her undergoing a clinical trial for tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes.
After which, Sydney changed her doctor. Not only this, she even walked the ramp at Miami Swim Week. She modelled for The Chemo Club x Post Swim runway show. Sydney modelled along with three other models who were getting treated for cancer. She modelled their pieces, which is designed especially for survivors for their post cancer bodies.
Sydney talked about the opportunity and stated that she has struggled a lot with her post-surgical body, as she had a hepatic artery pump placed in her stomach that shows when she is in her bathing suit. Sydney had stated that it felt empowering to be able to walk for a swimwear brand that let women embrace those scars. She said:
"I've struggled a lot with a post-surgical body, especially having this hepatic artery pump placed in my stomach that is very obvious when I'm in a bathing suit. Being able to walk for a swimwear brand that is empowering women to embrace those scars ... is so empowering, and it makes me feel even more proud to be in the body that I am that has carried me through so much."
It is worth mentioning that just a week before, Sydney was in the hospital. Sydney talked about her feelings when her doctor told her that she was in the final stages of her cancer in an Instagram post. She revealed that she had surgery to begin another clinical trial and resume her chemo, followed by a series of hospitalisations.
Sydney saw her body degrade as she could not eat or sleep. Sydney further stated that her doctor, who had been treating her for the past two years, walked into her room and told her that she was at the end of the rope. She wasn't able to process the big statement. She wrote:
"This week, my oncologist, whom I’ve been seeing for about 2 years, walked into my hospital room and told me I’m at the end of my rope. I don’t think there’s a way to process that sort of statement when internally you feel so full of life. So full of Aprils and giggles and sips with friends. So at odds with the life path you had carved out in your mind, that you’ve been slowly etching away at as you age."
On August 6, 2026, her family shared a photo of Sydney from one of her treks and announced her passing. Along with it, they penned a heartfelt note, saying they were proud of her for how she fought. The post can be read as:
"We will always love you so much, Sydney. I am so proud of how hard you fought. I love you."
We pray for Sydney's family as they navigate an extremely hard phase.
