Fans questioned makers on why they blurred out the actress behind Sai Pallavi in new visuals

Social media has been abuzz with videos and photos from Ramayana's posters and visuals. However, fans wondered why the actress standing behind Sai Pallavi was blurred in new visuals. Users wondered that it could be because the actress standing behind Sai caught a lot of attention for her looks and expressions in earlier photos. A user on Facebook wrote:

"The girl standing behind Sai Pallavi caught a lot of attention for her looks in the earlier visuals. In the recent Ramayana trailer/song, the framing appears to have been changed, with the background girl deliberately blurred and Sai Pallavi kept sharply in focus. It has definitely made fans notice the difference!"

Soon, netizens shared their thoughts. One user mentioned that the blurred girl looked more like 'Goddess Sita' than Sai Pallavi, "The blurred girl looks more like Sita maa than Sai Pallavi." Another user penned, "They choose wrong Sita Maa for the movie."

A third netizen commented, "See to act and have a immense years of career experience in acting and to be top of the creamy layer to act in such a huge film is what matters!! The girl who stands behind her is nothing compared to Sai Pallavi as an actress, and also long, long ago, like from ancient times, being whitish and fair beauty is worshipped as idols, and also it discriminates against the whole theory of diversity. North people praising South films but criticising a South actress for not having a North look is utter nonsense. People need to consider all factors of acting, not just the North-looking face."

While many came to the rescue, one user mentioned that in other films as well, the lead is kept in focus. Another user wrote, "Not every beautiful girl matches the character to play the roles......Director/Producer, you need to have an eye to choose one."

Talking about the poster launched on Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ram was shown placing a flower in Sita's hair with a beautiful backdrop. It had soft and serene feel to it. The trailer also featured Ravana, whose face was hidden beneath a shawl. The portrayal of 'Ravana' looked grand, majestic and refreshing. It further shows that when 'Ravana' declared his rule over the trilok, 'Rama' was born to be the saviour of the world.

The teaser which introduced Rama had a little glimpse of 'Sita'. However, the trailer showed the important characters including, Lara Dutta playing 'Kaikeyi', Rakul Preet Singh as 'Shurpankha,' and Vivek Oberoi as 'Vidyutijhva'. However, only Sunny Deol was missing, who will be playing'Lord Hanuman'.

For the unversed, Ramayana is being made on a huge budget of Rs. 4,000 crore. In an interaction with Prakhar Gupta, Namit Malhotra revealed that when he decided to start the project, people thought he was a lunatic as no Indian film had been made on sucha level. He revealed that the budget of both the part of the films would be around USD 500 million. He said:

"When we set out to make this six or seven years ago, people thought I was a lunatic because no Indian film comes close to this scale. Put simply, the budget will be around $500 million for both parts combined, which is over Rs 4,000 crore."
