Patrick, who was out of his home when his then-wife, Lindsay, strangled their three kids to death, sat for an interview on CBS' 60 Minutes and shared details about the past and present. Lindsay and Patrick parted ways, and the latter has since moved on in his life. He married fertility specialist Rachel Danis, and they recently confirmed that they are starting a family.
Patrick also opened up about his past and shared that he lives with the outcome every day. During the same conversation, Patrick also recalled what Lindsay told him after killing their three kids. Patrick was not at home when Lindsay killed their children. Now, three years after that, Patrick opened up about the other side of the story. When he was asked during the recent interview about whether he feels that he has failed, Patrick said that he tried his best.
Patrick, during the 60 Minutes interview, also recalled what Lindsay had told him just after killing their kids. Lindsay jumped from the second-story window after killing their three kids, as she allegedly tried to take her own life too. This left her paralyzed from the waist down. When Patrick testified, he revealed in court that when he reached home, he found Lindsay in the yard and asked her about the kids.
Lindsay didn't mention anything about harming the little ones; however, she revealed that they were in the basement. In the 911 audio, Patrick was heard asking for help. In the recent interview, Patrick Clancy revealed that Lindsay said it was like a 'dream' after he asked her if she remembered anything. Patrick recalled her saying:
“I asked her if she remembered it. She said it was like a dream and she remembered much in the way you would remember a dream after waking up.”
In the same interview, Patrick Clancy was asked whether Lindsay has ever asked for forgiveness. To this, Patrick stated, 'No, but I gave it to her'. Patrick publicly forgave Lindsay, and speaking about the same, he shared that he came across the headlines that labeled Lindsay as 'Killer Mom', 'Baby Murderer', and 'Monster '. He shared how people kept talking about Lindsay doing a 'horrible thing', however, he knew it was caused by her mental illness.
In his other statement earlier, Patrick called Lindsay a dedicated mom who always took care of her kids. He also revealed that his then-wife heard a man's voice, directing her to harm the kids, before she committed the crime.
There have been several theories about Patrick Clancy, and speaking about the same in the recent interview, Patrick stated that it's just painful to see how assumptions are being made, and it also often happens that when a person reads lie after lie about them, they somewhat start to believe that they are left with that only. The second day of testimony was really hard for Patrick, as he had a massive panic attack. However, he survived the same and testified. He could be quoted as saying:
"They put me in an ambulance. They offered me some medication, but I said, 'I don't want it, because I want to go back and I want to finish this so I can be done with this.' And I went back and I finished the testimony."
