Over five days into Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping, the spotlight has fallen on Savannah Guthrie and her two siblings, Annie and Camron, as they extend pleas to the alleged kidnapper(s).
The search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of popular NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie, has been missing without a trace since possibly the late hours of Saturday, January 31, 2026. As the relentless search for Nancy stretches into yet another painful day, her three children are standing together publicly, desperate for some answer about their dear mother.
Nancy was reported missing from her Arizona home on February 1, 2026, after she didn't attend the pre-planned Sunday church meeting. Authorities now believe she was taken against her will, and the case has escalated into a potential abduction with no suspect in sight.
While Savannah is a familiar face to millions of morning show viewers, thanks to NBC's Today Show, the crisis has pulled the spotlight on her tight-knit family. With no trace of their dear mother, Savannah, Annie, and Camron Guthrie are standing together.

On February 4, 2026, Savannah Guthrie posted an emotional video on Instagram alongside her sister, Annie, and brother, Camron. Captioned “bring her back,” the clip shows the siblings making a direct, tearful appeal to whoever may be holding their mother. Savannah shared that while the family is aware of reports about an alleged ransom letter, their immediate concern is to confirm that their mother is alive and safe.
Addressing the alleged ransom demand, Savannah explained that in a time when voices and images can be easily manipulated, the family wants clear assurance that their mother is truly okay and in the custody of the person contacting them. The Today anchor said:
"We, too, have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us."
Savannah added that her mom is 84 years old, and her heart is fragile. Savannah added that her mom remains in constant pain, and expressed her concern about her mom's well-being now that she is without her medicine. Savannah mentioned that her mom needs to survive, and she shouldn't have suffered in the first place. Savannah could be quoted as saying:
"Mommy is our heart and our home. She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart, is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer."
Savannah, 54, has been a fixture on NBC's Today since 2012, but this week she stepped away from the anchor desk as her family’s worst fears took shape. Born in Australia and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Savannah has often spoken about how deeply rooted she feels in her hometown, where her dear mother, Nancy, still lived until her shocking disappearance. The anchor was previously married to Michael Feldman, a communications strategist, and they have two children: a daughter, Vale, and a son, Charlie.

Speculation briefly swirled around Annie Guthrie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, after journalist Ashleigh Banfield cited an unnamed law enforcement source on her program. The source claimed Cioni “may be” a person of interest because he was reportedly among the last people to see Nancy Guthrie alive. Banfield noted that family members are often reviewed early in missing-person investigations.
However, that suggestion was quickly shut down by authorities. During a February 5 press conference, Chris Nanos called the report “reckless,” stressing that no one has been named a suspect or person of interest. He clarified that while investigators are examining all angles, there is no specific focus on any family member at this time.
Annie Guthrie, 56, is Savannah's older sister and a prominent writer, best known for her poetry collection, The Good Dark. She is the marketing and publicity director for feminist and activist Kore Press and runs her own commission-only jewellery business at Splinter Brothers & Sisters Warehouse. In some of her older interviews, she described her upbringing in a book-centred household, where journaling and reading were daily activities encouraged by their mother. She and Cioni are reportedly parents, but the identity of their child hasn't been publicly disclosed.
Annie's husband, Tommaso Cioni, is a longtime Tucson resident who originally hails from Italy and has largely lived a private life. He is believed to be an educator who has taught science and biology in local schools for several years. Earlier, he was a bassist and vocalist in the Tucson-based band, Early Black, alongside Dominic Evans and Walter I. Goncalves, Jr. According to a LinkedIn profile cited by Parade.com, Cioni works as a sixth-grade science and biology teacher at BASIS Oro Valley School. Beyond teaching, he is said to have creative interests that include poetry, music, and wildlife studies.
Cioni married Annie Guthrie in 2006, and the couple has mostly stayed out of the public spotlight. Recent updates to the investigation note that Cioni was the last known person to see Nancy Guthrie, who was reportedly dropped off at her home around 9:48 p.m. on January 31, 2026.
On February 5, 2026, Savannah's elder brother, Camron, issued another statement via Savannah's Instagram, pleading with Nancy's alleged kidnappers to contact the family urgently to get some leads about their mother and "move forward". Desperate for answers, the retired F-16 pilot pleaded with the alleged kidnapper(s) to respond. In the new video post, captioned "Bring her home", Camron says:
“This is Camron Guthrie. I’m speaking for the Guthrie family. Whoever is out there holding our mother, we went to hear from you. We haven’t heard anything directly. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward. But first, we have to know that you have our mom. We went to talk to you, and we are waiting for contact.”
Regarding his background, Camron Charles Guthrie is a retired F-16 pilot who served 26 years in the Vermont Air National Guard before retiring in 2018. A father of two, Camron has largely lived outside the spotlight. However, longtime Today viewers may remember him from a 2012 segment in which Savannah joined him for a flight in an F-16. When he retired, the news anchor wrote in an emotional post:
"I have never been more proud of my big brother. He has flown for our country for 26 years, and continues to serve proudly in the 'Green Mountain Boys' — the Vermont Air National Guard. He is the pride of our family and one of this country's finest."
Even around five days after Nancy's alleged abduction, law enforcement has confirmed that no suspect or person of interest has been identified and has pushed back against unverified rumours circulating online. However, one of the alleged ransom notes has been debunked as fake, and the FBI announced on February 5, 2025, that they had arrested a suspect, Derrick Callella, who is reportedly from Los Angeles, California.
The search for Nancy Guthrie is going on in full force, as messages of support pour in from viewers, colleagues, and across the country. Savannah, Annie, and Camron Guthrie are now standing united, praying for their mother's safe return.
