Collin Gosselin Says Mom Kate Cheated On Ex-Husband With Beau, Steve Neild, 'The Signs Were There'

Collin Gosselin's upcoming tell-all reignites a decade-old buzz that Kate Gosselin cheated on her ex-husband, Jon, with her former bodyguard turned partner, Steve Neild.

Late Gosselin's estranged son, Collin Gosselin, is dropping new bombshells about his mother as he prepares to release his memoir later this year. The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star has alleged that Kate was romantically involved with her current partner, Steve Neild, long before their relationship became public. Collin's comment has reignited years-old speculation surrounding the famous Gosselin family's highly publicized split.

Kate confirmed her relationship with former bodyguard Steve Neild in November 2025, but Collin now claims the romance began much earlier, when she was still married to his father, Jon Gosselin.

Collin Gosselin says he 'always had information' about his mother's affair with Steve Neild

Recently, Collin joined an episode of the Strange McKnights podcast, where he dropped some explosive information about the years of feud within his family, particularly with his mom, Kate. According to him, "Even before any articles came out, I always had information pertaining to [Kate's] relationship with Steve." Speaking on the podcast, Collin said that he wanted to focus on what he describes as 'abuse' and 'difficult experiences' within the family. He said:

The former reality star had long chosen not to discuss his mother's relationship in a public forum. However, Collin now believes that people need to know the truth, especially when it comes to cheating. The 22-year-old expressed his disappointment with his mother for her alleged infidelity, saying:

"When it does pertain to it being cheating, I think that’s a different story. That should be put out there. I do not condone cheating. I do not appreciate it. I’m just very disappointed in my mother."

Steve Neild was close to the Gosselins for years, and Collin has proof

While it was only in 2025 that Kate Gosselin publicly announced her relationship with Steve Neild, Collin says the couple goes way back. Neild originally worked as the Gosselin family's private security guard during their reality television years. Not only Neild, but his former wife, Gina, and their children were close family friends, which made the alleged relationship even more surprising. 

While fans have long believed that Kate and Steve had an affair for years, Collin seems to now confirm the same. The reality TV fame claims he has evidence suggesting Steve had been living with Kate before she relocated to North Carolina. He alleged:

"We also have his home address registered to her home in Wernersville, Pennsylvania. My sister Hannah has spoken to me and my dad about him actually living in the home."

He also claimed Steve frequently accompanied the family on vacations and was often seen sharing hotel rooms with Kate. Speaking about Kate and Steve's relationship hard-launch last year, Collin said, "I do not believe it's been a year," adding that "They were always very close, and the signs were there of romantic involvement."

Further in the podcast, Collin candidly addressed what he feels about his estranged mother's relationship with Steve Neild, years after cheating on his father with him. Despite all allegations, Collin clarified that he does not hold any personal grudges toward Steve. He has rather felt safe when Steve was around, saying he always had his back. He clarified:

"I’m not here to slander Steve. I actually do want to put a good point in here that oftentimes when Steve would come on vacations with us, I actually felt very safe because he used to actually defend me against her."

His remarks come months after Jon Gosselin publicly claimed he had long suspected Kate's relationship with Steve, writing on social media after they went Instagram official, "I told you all. No one believed me." 

Collin Gosselin's memoir promises new details about his reality TV childhood

Collin's new allegations arrive ahead of the release of his tell-all memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, which is scheduled to hit shelves in October 2026. The 22-year-old has said the book will reveal what life behind the cameras was really like, claiming viewers never saw many of the struggles he experienced growing up on reality television.

Although Kate Gosselin got the custody rights to all eight children she shared with Jon during their 2009 divorce, her relationship with Collin later became increasingly strained, until Jon gained his custody in 2018. Kate has yet to publicly respond to her son's latest allegations.
