The heartbreaking news of his demise was confirmed by his representative, Aliza Rabinoff. According to his representative, the 94-year-old music producer passed away peacefully from age-related illness. Amid this, an old accusation made by the vice chairman of J. F. Lehman & Company, Tig Krekel, on Clive resurfaced.
Back in 2014, Clive Davis was dragged into a bitter divorce case involving wealthy businessman, Tig Krekel and his then-wife, Rosanna Krekel. It was Rosanna who filed for divorce from Tig and wanted him to pay her spousal support. The divorce was filed in South Carolina, whereas, as per law, a spouse is prohibited from getting alimony when they commit adultery. According to the legal documents obtained by TMZ, Tig claimed that renowned music producer, Clive Davis allegedly slept with his estranged wife, Rosanna, who is 32 years younger than Clive. He cited in legal documents:
"April, 2014 she went to Clive's vacation home in Palm Springs, where the pair was chauffeured in limos and went to galas and hair salons. May 2014, she went to a VIP red carpet event at MOMA in NYC and was escorted by Clive. June, 2014, Clive invited her to a black-tie event for the Songwriters Hall of Fame June and July, 2014, the pair went on Clive's USD 20 million luxury yacht, named 'One More Toy' on the French and Italian Riviera. They were together for 2 weeks."
Due to these reported meetings and trips, Tig suspected that Clive and Rosanna were having an affair. Once in an interview, Rosanna shared that she was very close to music producer, Clive Davis, and he famously walked her down the aisle at her 2008 wedding to businessman Tig Krekel. The couple stayed together until 2014 and had a messy divorce.
Rosanna Krekel, who is widely known as the estranged wife of wealthy businessman, Tig Krekel, is the daughter of Anna Giacalone of Dix Hills, New York and the late Vito Giacalone, who was a graphic artist there. She graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She was the vice president and associate publisher of the Robb Report group of publications in New York until August 2007. She is currently the CEO of La Vita É Bella, which she founded in September 2007.
Clive Davis was a renowned music producer. At the age of 35, he was named president of Columbia Records in 1967. Over the years, he won five Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer in 2000. He will be deeply missed by his family and fans. Sharing their grief, Clive’s family penned a heartwrenching note for him. They wrote:
"He discovered, mentored, and championed the greatest artists in modern music history, leaving an indelible mark on culture that will endure for generations. To his family, Clive was Dad and Granddaddy, the steady presence at the centre of our lives, the source of wisdom, strength, encouragement, and unconditional love. No matter how extraordinary his professional accomplishments, he never lost sight of what mattered most: the people he loved."
