North West, 13, Defends Her Piercings And Bold Style Amid 'Demonic' Claims, 'Don't Judge A Book..'

She did a TikTok livestream with her mother, Kim Kardashian, where she also replied to the claims that her dressing style was "demonic". Moreover, the 13-year-old also explained why people shouldn't judge her based on her looks.
North West responds to 'Demonic' comments.
North West directly discussed how people have been criticizing her appearance. During the livestream, she also rejected the labels being attached to her style. She explained that she is not "Demonic" in her style. Rather, it is just the way she likes to dress up. In her words:
"Stop saying I'm demonic. No, I’m not. Just because I like to dress this way, don't judge a book by its cover."
North's mother, Kim Kardashian, 45, also joined the conversation. She suggested that people might be reacting to North's black dental grills and piercings. However, North questioned why those fashion choices were being linked to something negative. Kim then reassured her daughter and asked whether she was bothered by those comments. Their interaction gave a glimpse into the mother-daughter dynamic and the attention around the 13-year-old's increasingly different appearance.
North also explained that she took fashion inspiration from a white gothic Lolita outfit that she wore during her first headlining performance at The Vic Theatre in Chicago. She also said that she wanted to look like an angel dressed entirely in white. In turn, she clarified that her fashion choices do not intend to communicate anything dark. North also mentioned that she believes in Jesus and wanted to show people that she thinks of herself "as a light, not dark."
For those who don't know, Kim has often explained now North's interest in alternative fashion started at a young age. During the livestream, she also recalled how her daughter wanted septum and eyebrow piercings even when she was in preschool. In fact, she revealed that North would experiment with fake piercings and different looks before her style became a subject of discussion on the internet.
North also denied the suggestions that her appearance was linked to her parents' divorce. Kim and Kanye finalized their divorce in 2022, but North emphasized that her fashion choices were not a reaction to the separation. Calling out these claims, she said:
"So you guys can't say, where did the style [come from], is this style from the divorce? No, queen."
Kim had earlier defended her daughter's creative freedom and said that North has always been clear about her choices. In a previous interview about her daughter's blue hair and unconventional looks, Kim explained that she does not want to take something away that made her daughter, North, happy. However, she also admitted that raising a child comes with challenges and parents must sometimes create boundaries for it.
Although Kim supports North's experiments with fashion, she has also clarified that she does not approve every request from her kids. North once revealed that she wanted to get a bridge piercing, but she was not allowed to get one. Instead, Kim's parenting style allows her daughter to explore temporary styles while maintaining limits about certain things.
