Notably, Brittany is in the headlines as the title has been recently taken away from her after she made some controversial comments. The news was confirmed with a lengthy statement shared by the chairman and CEO of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, Thom Brodeur, on August 6, 2026.
Although the circumstances leading to Brittany's dethroning have not been revealed, it was reported to be something that violated the standards of the Miss USA organization. The statement by Thom says that it won't tolerate any kind of "racism, homophobia, transphobia nor language" that destroys someone's dignity. Ever since the latest update went viral, netizens have been eager to know more about Brittany Boltinhouse and her career.
As mentioned, Brittany Boltinhouse received the title of Miss North Carolina USA on June 28, 2026. She has been an entrepreneur. Brittany Boltinhouse has been running two businesses, FloorMasters and TurfMasters, in Leland at the age of 27. She credited the launch of the businesses to the lessons she faced after dealing with multiple failures.
Following her victory at the competition, Brittany said in an interview that she ran five ventures before getting into flooring. According to her, those earlier failures taught her what approaches to avoid and what strategies actually work. Leaving college to pursue business was a big gamble, Boltinhouse said. She described the decision as frightening at the time.
She explained that the turning point came when someone saw potential in her and her husband and offered them a start at FloorMasters, where a mentor guided them early on. She also said her Latina background played a key role in shaping her work ethic and drive. Boltinhouse added that dealing with discrimination and bias pushed her to keep moving forward.
She observed that people recognize Hispanics for their strong work ethic. That mindset led her to take on a new kind of challenge: pageants. After half a year of preparation, she won the Miss North Carolina USA 2026 title. Brittany Boltinhouse admitted the experience was daunting, but said she wanted to test herself and seize the moment while she was 27. She credited her family, friends, and community for supporting her throughout the process.
Brittany said that for her, the crown means more than a title. She views it as proof that taking risks can open doors. Boltinhouse said the most rewarding part was realizing that she could accomplish anything she set out to do. She is set to represent North Carolina at the Miss USA 2026 competition in Florida on August 27, 2026.
Back in July 2026, Brittany Boltinhouse appeared for an interview with The Pageant Project, where she shared a few more details related to her career. Brittany said during the conversation that she has done modelling for most of the time over the years, adding that she has been in a male-dominated field as she owns two companies.
Brittany recalled the time when she saw Shani Palacios win Miss Nicaragua a few years ago and believed that the same dream could come true for anyone else. She recalled the experience by saying:
“I kind of looked at her, I will never forget, I was in the living room and I was like, maybe I can give it a try. Maybe I can do something like that. And obviously growing up in a Hispanic household universe is a very big pageant for us, especially in the Trump era was like everything to us growing up. But I decided to do it and a lot of people told me not to. Believe it or not, they’re like, you’re too old.”
Brittany Boltinhouse stated that her journey started in December 2025, when she had six months to prepare. However, she needed a coach, and while she met a few, Brittany credited three of them as the “main attributes” of her training. She revealed their names as Jamie Hanfield, Martis Hall, and Steven Bolina.
Addressing her career as an entrepreneur, Brittany said that her parents supported her decision in the beginning. She said that she was initially reselling products like refrigerators and blenders on Facebook. She then started working with a man named Ingen Uyan as a wholesaler. Notably, this marked the beginning of her successful journey as an entrepreneur. Brittany even opened up about the career she originally wanted to pursue as she said:
“I didn’t even get to finish school. I was two classes away from getting my undergrad. So I wanted to be an immigration lawyer. I wanted to pursue law. And because I loved like just helping the migrants, you know, in general immigrants, you know, that was just like a really my biggest advocacy back then when I was younger.”
