On January 27, 2026, Arijit Singh made a shocking announcement which left his fans heartbroken. Out of the blue, Arijit took to his official Instagram handle and shared a picture note. He started the note by wishing his fans happ new year. He thanked them for listening to him all these years.
Arijit further expressed happiness on announcing that he is not going to take any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. He stated that she ended his journey and called it a wonderful journey. She said:
"Hello, Happy New Year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey."
As soon as the note surfaced, netizens flooded the comments section. Arijit Singh, without any reason, left the singing world as a playback singer.
