Earlier, Angelina and Salma worked on the Marvel Cinematic Universe hit Eternals. While the duo shares a significant age gap, they have developed a deep friendship. In a recent interview, Angelina revealed that she has developed a very deep connection with Salma.
According to a report by PEOPLE, Angelina is currently 51 and Salma Hayek is 60. This makes Salma 9 years older than Angelina. In a conversation with the outlet, Salma shared about her bond with Angelina. Directed by Angelina, Without Blood stars Salma in the lead role. Speaking to PEOPLE, Salma mentioned that their conversations "were delicious" and "very organic." She added that she felt safe around Angelina. She said:
"I love her mind, and I get her. So I think when you know somebody gets you, you feel safe and you can be whoever you are in whatever circumstances."
Angelina, who was also part of the interview, chimed in and said that it was very nice to meet someone like Salma at this later stage of her life. She explained that both of them have gone through many experiences in life, although their experiences were not exactly the same. Angelina added that as they have grown older, they have reached a similar stage in life and understand many things in a similar way, and because of these shared experiences, they can relate to and understand each other better.
Salma quipped, "Even though I’m much older than her, by the way." In response, Angelina shared that she does not consider their age gap as a huge one. She said, "To appreciate that friendship and that bond and that understanding, I haven’t had that kind of connection in my life." Salma agreed and mentioned that it was hard to find that kind of connection.
Recalling the filming of Without Blood, Salma shared that they would strongly argue or speak very passionately about things related to the film. During these conversations, when Salma got emotional and cried, Angelina used to console her and hug her. Soon after, they would start laughing together, and this made others wonder what really happened between them. Salma clarified that they never made each other cry, but when they were discussing emotional or serious topics, they became deeply moved and got emotional.
