His role as 'Rehman Dakait' and his on-screen presence has been one of 2025’s most-talked-about moments. Fans on social media are comparing his entry song with an old video of his father, Vinod Khanna. Recently, Akshaye Khanna’s stylist, Preetisheel Singh sat down for a candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, during which she opened up about Akshaye’s reaction on seeing his look as ‘Rehman Dakait’. She explained that she had worked with the actor on Chhava before. She revealed that when Akshaye looked in the mirror, he instantly got reminded of Vinod Khanna. Preetisheel was quoted as saying:
"I did his look in Chhava as well, turning him into Aurangzeb. Of course, he has a lot of experience working with wigs. I wanted to refrain from how he has already been shown and wanted his charisma to come across. There is a suaveness in his character, where his mere presence commands attention. He doesn't need to say much. I gave him soft waves, and we showed the receding hairline. It is not a full head of hair. I remember doing the trial, he was looking at himself in the mirror, telling me he was reminded of his late father, Vinod Khanna."
Ever since the film, Dhurandhar has been released, fans can’t stop talking about Akshaye Khanna and his strong performance in it. Apart from his acting, it is Akshaye Khanna’s dance that has been making rounds on the internet. Recently, a user found an old video of Vinod Khanna and said that Akshaye’s dance steps were inspired from his father. It is worth mentioning that the actor’s dance in the action film was not planned and it was completely improvised by Akshaye at the moment.

They had two children, Rahul and Akshaye Khanna. However, they parted ways after a few years. Later, Vinod Khanna tied the knot to Kavita Daftary. Apart from being an actor, Vinod was also a politician. He died in April 2017, after a battle with cancer.
