Recently, Jaya Bachchan attended the 'We The Women' event and had a chat with Barkha Dutt. She spoke about many things and slammed the paparazzi culture. She also criticised the celebrities who call paparazzi to get clicked. Yesterday, on December 10, 2025, Uorfi Javed was snapped in the city, and now her sly remark has gone viral. When the photographers were clicking her, Uorfi seemingly gave a witty reply to the question raised by Jaya Bachchan during the event. The influencer was quoted as saying:

"Hum vo wale celebrities hain jo paps bulate hain airport par, jo samaj gaya vo samaj gaya."

During the 'We The Women' event, the host and journalist, Barkha Dutt, asked Jaya Bachchan about her take on the culture of young actors calling paparazzi to get clicked. In response, Jaya said that she doesn’t know who those actors are. Citing her grandson, Agastya Nanda’s example, the Sholay actress shared that he is not on social media. While everyone teased him for being away from social media, he took everything sportingly. For the unversed, Agastya Nanda is all set to make his silver screen debut with Ikkis. Jaya Bachchan was quoted as saying:

"I don’t know them; I really don’t know who these people are. Young toh mera grandson bhi hai, jiski picture release hone wali hai, and he is not on any social media. Everyone teases him, saying that at some point, you will have to get on a social media platform, and he says, 'We will see.' But agar aapko apna photo nikalvane ke liye camera bulana padhe, toh what kind of a celeb are you?"

Jaya Bachchan slammed paparazzi culture

During the same event, Jaya slammed the paparazzi culture. She accepted that she is a product of the media. However, her relationship with the paparazzi is zero. She raised questions about these people and asked whether they have been trained to represent the people of the country, India. She mentioned that her father was a journalist, and she holds immense respect for those people. She was quoted as saying:

"You know, it’s very strange. My relationship with the media is fantastic. I am the product of media. But my relationship with paparazzi is zero. Who are these people? Are they trained to represent the people of this country? You call them media? I come from the media. My father was a journalist. I have tremendous respect for such people."
