Why Did 'Dhurandhar' Akshaye Khanna Never Get Married? 'Commitment Phobic, Not Marriage Material'

Akshaye Khanna has been grabbing the attention with his role in the movie, Dhurandhar. In the movie, he played the role of 'Rehman Dakait', and to mention, he literally outshone everyone, and even the lead Ranveer Singh, as felt by the audience.

People have been saying that Akshaye deserves to be nominated for the Oscars for his role in the movie, and with his last two films, Akshaye took the bar higher; he yet again cemented his name in every block of Bollywood, but with negative roles, something different that he used to do in the beginning of his career.

Akshaye Khanna reveals the reason he has never gotten married

As Akshaye Khanna is grabbing the attention yet again, people have been digging deeper into his personal life, asking why he has never chosen to get married. Akshaye once talked about the same and shared that he is commitment-phobic. In an interview with Anuradha Prasad, Akshaye Khanna once expressed his wish to get married to the right person.

Akshaye, back then, said that if someone wants to get married, it shouldn't happen for the sake of it; rather, someone should opt for that type of commitment when it feels 'right'. Although he didn't fixate upon any particular person whom he wanted to tie the knot to, he said that there might be one day when he would take that step. Akshaye Khanna said:

"You need to find the right girl for yourself before deciding to get married. It is wrong to marry for the sake of it, thinking that your family is putting pressure on you, and you did it. That’s wrong. I am hoping it will happen one day."

Over the years, however, Akshaye Khanna's views have changed, and he decided to be better off alone. Akshaye shared the reasons for such a decision during an interview with the Hindustan Times. The actor said that he was not able to see himself getting married as he is not cut out for that kind of life, because he feels that it is not only a commitment but also a drastic lifestyle change.

Yet in another interview with the Bombay Times, Akshaye Khanna shared that over the years, he has become more commitment-phobic. The actor, in the interview, said that he was not always like this, but over the years, he has become wary of relationships, as it has a lot to do with his love for being alone. Akshaye could be quoted as saying:

"I'm even more commitment-phobic now. I wasn't like that in the past, but over time, I have become more wary of relationships. It has a lot to do with the fact that I enjoy being alone. I am comfortable in my skin.”

Akshaye Khanna's role in Dhurandhar has become the talk of the town

When Akshaye Khanna played the role of 'Aurangzeb' in the movie, Chhava, it sent people into a collective meltdown. The way Akshaye essayed a negative role took him out of his genre of being the lover-boy and established him as the new villain in the block. His cold stares, sharp dialogue delivery, and everything just fit so perfectly that Akshaye re-ignited the love for him in the hearts of his fans. Now, with the movie, Dhurandhar, Akshaye hit the right place in his fans' hearts. His entry song became so viral that the internet just couldn't stop talking about it. People who have seen the movie in the theatres are now claiming that Akshaye's aura diminished when others were present in the movie.
